They aren't going to ban anyone's account.
Not only have I played with over 20 mods through the entirety of World, Iceborne, Rise and Sunbreak... including using them online frequently.... I even dropped a video on Youtube explicitly mocking them and showcasing mods after they made their official announcement. Over 60k people got to see me use mods online in World. I'm still not banned.

Conversely, here on Steam I have to post on an alt account because my main account has been banned too many times for calling people silly (last time my main account called someone's argument silly, I got banned from all steam community functions for 3 months). I'm in far greater danger of getting my Steam account banned from this platform than losing access to Monster Hunter servers.

I've been losing all hope of ever being able to replace my computer since Windows 11 is a sewage pipe pouring over a junkyard built on a toxic waste disposal ground... so to speak, and I doubt I'll be able to get another Windows 10 machine. I just figured I wouldn't be able to play anything if I switched to Linux or suchlike.

You can still always install Windows 10 on any machine, regardless if its EOL or not. You'll still be able to play most games, just not any that have kernel level anti-cheat that is not supported on linux. Biggest issue is that linux can be a massive timesink fixing issues you never imagined happening. You can add me if you have any specific questions :)
