I'm yet to see a single post about the ban for modding in MH game series. The game simply disconnects the players with heavily modded game, preventing co-op

You need to use REFramework with Loose Files turned on. Unfortunately the REFramework we've got at the moment is unstable and the game crashes after about half an hour. So yes, the game can be modded but is massively unstable at present and can't really be used long-term.
