went from 30 - 60 on average to 60 - 90 which is pretty sweet, it's a simply config file which changes some stuff around to increase performance (I am no whiz on the matter)

usually these "fps boosters" just set your settings to as low as possible if you read the file

Why enjoy the game at 30 fps, when you can make it looks terrible but with the funny number being higher?

the FPS booster mod you're talking about has Framegen turned on in its config.
