Is Monster Hunter Wilds’ multiplayer too easy?
Hello everyone,

I’ve been playing MH Wilds for quite some time now, and I’ve noticed that multiplayer feels significantly easier compared to solo play (without AI)

Solo: The fights feel more intense and require some careful preparation imo. I often find myself using a good number of potions, and the monsters pose a good challenge for me.

Multiplayer: The moment I team up with three other hunters, monsters seem to melt within minutes, even without perfect coordination.

I suspect this is due to the new mechanics, such as the focus system (which allows precise targeting of wounds) and the generally more dynamic combat system. In multiplayer, all four hunters can exploit weaknesses simultaneously, making fights feel far less challenging.

What do you think?

Have you noticed a significant difference between solo and multiplayer difficulty?

Does it feel too easy, or do you think the balance is just right?

Should Capcom tweak the difficulty scaling in future updates?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

It always been like this because the game doesnt scale monster stats, other than hp, in multiplayer and it is easily overwhelmed with more than 2 people.

I see your point, and I understand that Monster Hunter has always handled multiplayer scaling this way. However, my question is whether the new features in Wilds have made things significantly easier compared to previous games.

For example, I remember struggling against Magnamalo in Rise, even with a full team of four hunters. We failed multiple times before finally defeating it. In contrast, I haven’t experienced that level of challenge in Wilds so far, even in Singleplayer. Could it be that the combination of faster combat, better hit detection on weak points, and overall improved mobility has made the game more forgiving?

Yes it's always been like that and it's especially bad on Wilds because the monsters already have to little health and do to little damage as it is.

Doesn't own the game, ignored.
Your damage output x number of players = a lot of damage. This is co-op 101

They could be a console player coming to the steam forums to ask a question because the game is crossplay so balanced the exact same for PC and console and the steam forums is the biggest game forums on the planet.
