It does annoy the piss out of me that Wyvern Eggs apparently don't yield consumable eggs though. Apparently they just reward 50 Guild/Research Points.
I imagine Meowscular Chef took one look at the Windward Plains from afar, said "You'll get dust in my kitchens!" then left with a meowscular huff.
I like the supposed lore reason but gameplay wise its just tedious.
Lorewise we already established connections with different tribes that sometimes invite us to a cookout which we can now order in at the grand hub
-but-
why arent we cutting out the middle man and just buy in the ingredients from those tribes since we are more established now ?
Have our palicos learn from them so they can apply it to the canteen.
The vouchers apparently dont even count for people in your private lobby anymore which is a huge downgrade.
You'd think sharing resources amongst hunters would be encouraged.
Anyway. The idea might be sound but i find the execution lacking. Introducing tedium in the food mechanics while making other aspects of the game more "modern streamlined" feels like a step back.
But thats just my opinion.
and the reason they do any gathering for us at all is because we also cull the more violent local megafauna for them, making another thing we're trading with them.
and this too is probably the equivalent of a tribe going "Hey! They only gave us one of the special vouchers and now we're sending them five meals!" or something, not to say this isn't also malarkey.
That all said and to reiterate, while I don't personally find it too much a bother, I still agree.
Yes i should have clarified.
We as the hunter from almas unit are somewhat of a glorified and heavily armed, also crazy, boy/girlscout.
We have staked out a lot of valuable ingredients that we must have reported on at base camp or at least alma has.
Yes we still collect stuff to trade for individual things and it makes perfect sense to trade for fancy food stuffs up until the point the guild put that grand hub in action.
Our cats and other more gathering focused units should be ALL over the collection of trade in items for necessities like food and basic supplies to ensure the entire operation can continue.
Its not a one man show. If we really wanna bring lore into this then the guild is just straight up pushing all of their work onto a single hunter.
Eh. Its still early in the game so maybe things get adjusted better. Im still upset over the vouchers not being valid for a hunting party because thats what they should be valid for.
"Hey those hunters formed a 4 man squad and would like to voucher some meals in to get rid of the monsters we cant beat ourselves"
Its not like they pay us in zennies since as you said they exclusively deal in trade and have never interacted with a zenny based faction before.
Also fair, and yeah, maybe Ingredient Exchange comes along later. Or they're staggering the release of such a hypothetical system for 'realism.' Again.
