Yeah, I'm really missing a dedicated canteen. I like the BBQ animations, and that the food is actually presented as what you're eating, but man. I miss sitting down and getting a meal. Especially since the meals seem so... Limited to what you have on hand. I don't get to upgrade it, or bring stuff back for a meowster chef to prepare. Grandmeow's meals are a dream. I want to be in a food coma after watching my hunter eat, not wondering what I'm doing with a quarter of a head of cabbage.

Hopefully get one when that gathering hub comes out. I do miss the canteens for sure.

There are a lot of things from prior titles, such as World, that really should have been in this game.

1) Canteens
2) Research
3) Room (to decorate with captured endemic life etc)
4) Decorations

god this game feels so ♥♥♥♥, why couldnt they have just kept world and kept adding content. i miss my chef cats cooking specific meals for specific setups. like doesnt anyone else think this was just ♥♥♥♥ out with bare bones, the story is awful the cooking is awful the characters are awful the monsters die in under 5mins(most of which are stunlocked from wounds popping this whole game feels like babys first monster hunter, all the things that made MH unique and indepth are gone, now we sit in our tents cooking a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ well done steak :(

Here for update:

Canteen is in the Grand Hub which is unlocked through an HR 16+ mission.

Research is unlocked by completing the welcome to high rank mission, which you then need tk go to the researchers to get those side quests.

You also can get gemma as an assist npc in high rank if you do her side quests.

Canteen is just the feasts that the villages occasionally got for you, or the grand hub tickets for the same food. I miss having the canteen we had in World/IB, but it is what it is...

The canteen we got is just uber eats but with cats.
Entirely overpriced and all in all just a lesser feature compared to the canteens from previous entries.
