or at least it makes people think it looks better
Newer MH games added new combos through the years, and it's the same here, most(haven't played them all in here yet), if not all , weapons have new combos. Long Sword for example gets new attacks when your spirit gauge hits red, as well as getting a cool new finisher after you helm splitter called "Spirit Release" or something along those lines.
Dual Blades gets new attacks and combos as well when you fill up your archdemon gauge, as well as having new levels of demon(blade?) dance.
Switch Axe has new attacks and moves to combo into, etc.
It will be I think but it is by far not there yet.
it lacks content which will be delivered with updates and it also feels like the endgame is lacking which also world had this problem initially.
it does play different since you have a different wounding mechanic and you have moves that do interact with it and close them.
Wild feels a little bit faster than world to me in regards to fights.
Weapons from the same monsters yeah look the same? lol
Well I just gave you some examples of new attacks, combos and by default, the insinuated animations for those new attacks and combos. I'm not sure what you're wanting here? Like a total overhaul of the weapon attacks?
If you wanna go this route you should also attack the monsters because they're constantly always adding old monsters (Congalala is from MH2, Rathalos is from MH1, Yian Garuga is from MHFU, Fatalis is from MH1, Zinogre is from MH3, etc.) in addition to new monsters. As opposed to just making an all new cast of monsters with all new attacks (since a lot returning monsters attacks are the same from previous games just with new combos/moves sprinkled in, same as the weapons.)
