weapons look the same as world
Did they change anything with the weapons? I'm looking at the animations and mechanics, but they all look exactly like world. I heard they were making them different. It looks like just copy pasted the same weapons animations and mechanics of world. Am I wrong, or just not seeing what they changed? I just don't see anything new. I saw the hammer animations, and was very disappointed that it looked and performed the same as world.

Weapons have looked the same since like the psp era. The only time we get new looks is when there are new monsters, or sometimes G-Rank upgrades of tree's look improved. Thats one of the things that is charming about monster hunter. Rathalos and his armor has looked the same for decades. The only thing that changed is the reoslution of the textures and the vertices in the mesh.

The animations are slightly different. Ive used charge blade since its introduction in 4 and each game the animations look and feel different. They might not be vastly different but there's different parts of the animations that look and feel different to previous games.
Most weapons have always had the same animations in every MH game.

Newer MH games added new combos through the years, and it's the same here, most(haven't played them all in here yet), if not all , weapons have new combos. Long Sword for example gets new attacks when your spirit gauge hits red, as well as getting a cool new finisher after you helm splitter called "Spirit Release" or something along those lines.

Dual Blades gets new attacks and combos as well when you fill up your archdemon gauge, as well as having new levels of demon(blade?) dance.

Switch Axe has new attacks and moves to combo into, etc.

Wilds is to world as Elden Ring is to Dark Souls 3
I mean cause if I wanted the same I could boot up world? Like idk with a new game I expect different stuff to mess around with. Kinda the point of a new game.

It will be I think but it is by far not there yet.

it lacks content which will be delivered with updates and it also feels like the endgame is lacking which also world had this problem initially.
The new monsters have new weapons

it does play different since you have a different wounding mechanic and you have moves that do interact with it and close them.

Wild feels a little bit faster than world to me in regards to fights.

Well I just gave you some examples of new attacks, combos and by default, the insinuated animations for those new attacks and combos. I'm not sure what you're wanting here? Like a total overhaul of the weapon attacks?

If you wanna go this route you should also attack the monsters because they're constantly always adding old monsters (Congalala is from MH2, Rathalos is from MH1, Yian Garuga is from MHFU, Fatalis is from MH1, Zinogre is from MH3, etc.) in addition to new monsters. As opposed to just making an all new cast of monsters with all new attacks (since a lot returning monsters attacks are the same from previous games just with new combos/moves sprinkled in, same as the weapons.)

Ah ok. I just booted it up,and haven't gotten that far into it. I saw the hammer, and got flash backs to world cause I hated the animations of the hammer, and got disappointed that it felt the same. I have to play it more to see the difference. I'm still trying to pick a weapon.

This is why I picked a different one. also having 2 weapons you can make fun strategies.
