Monster Hunter Wilds

This is the worst Monster Hunter Story I've played so far.
This story just sucks I know the fully voiced hunter is supposed to be a feature but it takes the immersion away from me and I much preferred worlds story of having our hunter speak through action instead of words.

This just makes him/her a souless stand in parroting whatever the writers want us to think/do about the situation.

Not only this the game seems to favor more indigenous cultures as reference points than it does more medieval western cultures like the other Monster Hunters games do.

I also noticed that every prominent character besides the guild master has been a woman that genuinely adds nothing to the hunt (except Olivia) and always seems to be forced onto the screen for some composition for no reason.

This is the definition of a 3/10 story and I honestly hope that they bring back the same writers for world in the next iteration of the game because while the gameplay feels like Monster Hunter the story feel like fan fiction made by people who've never experienced the world of Monster Hunter.

First & second point reasonable
Third & forth unnecessary
Only the last one I agree with you
0/10 review

Stop being misogynistic. It's no wonder you have trouble with women.

I kinda figured something like this would happen. The moment story and characters are added, it kind of becomes a vehicle for other things. World was as much story as I ever desired from the series. Its strong suit will and always will be its gameplay. If not, please hire more talented writers.
I mean Rise was more Eastern leaning aside from the sunbreak royal family thing and the games before world where always more of a go to that new land where you help the indigenous population

For me its just the overabundance of cutscenes and chatter. The Lore Hallways dont help either. World and Rise was more than enough "Story Content" for me.
All MH stories so far have been bad or not really existant. This is actually the best, that dosent mean its good. I dont understand the complain about the support staff. This is a civillian mission and they are mostly an expedition to scout the unknown land. Yes they want to kill he white beast but when you do such a mission into the unknown you are actually doing lots of stuff on the side. That happenend in the real world. For example the expedition to be the first on the south pole did some science.

The teams are compromised of a hunter (player, olivia), palico (player, arthos), scholar (alma, keith) and a crafter (gemma, werner). There are obviously more teams but the game focuses on 2. Having good relations with the tribes they encounter is the logical thing to do. This is also a series were you very often play as the hunter for some remote tribal village.

If you want human conflict this isnt the series for it.

The game makes it very clear that they are EXPLORERS and the hunters are just a small part of it. Not military, not some extermination force. Its amazing how many people dont get it.

Hate him if you want but Keith is not some political statement, he is actually a very common trope in jrpg´s. (Not saying this is a jrpg but the characters work on jrpg logic)

Nah I gave my dude a demon voice now he's the villain of the story

I think you're playing wrong

Theres no way u are saying any monster hunter story was good............. We dont play the game for the story and never have lol. Id rather have more cutscenes in this game, then have those long ass fights in world during campaign where u shoot a cannon for 10-15minutes, then climb on a boss and hit giant crystals on him for another 10-15minutes.

The tribe people are probably the most entertaining thing story wise in any monster hunter game imo since they are like smart and dumb creatures who seem clueless but aren't (like the one being webbed up)

well MH World story was not that bad and i even liked it at some point.. but imagine Nata was in it also.. ugh..

Are you sure? MHW's plot was straight up r-worded.

"Oh no this monster which is part of the local ecosystem is ruining the local ecosystem by carrying out its natural lifecycle. We, the all knowledgeable humans who are not part of the local ecosystem must fix this... by killing things!"

Repeat.
