Are there any meta builds out already?

Just hit into HR and kinda clueless what to build next as a set for GS and Hammer. I never really cared about meta up until World because people would kick you instantly for not using meta. In earlier games it wasn't as much of a problem.
I've looked at my options of gear so far and none really seem appealing in a way. There's no attack plus or critical eye yet. So I guess I can stay on Arkveld for now as I haven't found anything useful on the internet yet. I mean, the current armor is still holding up pretty good for me so I guess I should begin to craft something when I have more options available. I don't really have any good gems either and I hate that they removed the ability to craft gems and farm charms through mining certain spots like in older games.
I guess meta isn't really important as of yet since there's no DPS meter yet.

Long Sword with burst buffs. I'm using great sword with burst buff armor and fights are always less than 10 minutes on low rank.

as usual, any kind of max affinity longsword is the absolute best to go, a casual 1200 dmg with a mount attack is quiete nice

LS is for weebs and sucks. LS users always trip everyone and 90% of LS users don't know how to use their weapon effectively and never go to the tail bothering blunt weapon users at the head. LS users ahve a high chance to get kicked because of this.

Shockproof Jewel "Disables damage reactions when you hit a friend or when a friend hits you", single slot jewel for all those people that can't NOT play with a katana (or their overly tender friends that can't get out of the way).

First you don't have to play meta, play well with your weapons and improve with each hunt, improve your weaknesses and there will be nothing you can't hunt. I've been playing Freedom Unite since PSP, there was no meta in those times, only good hunters who handle their weapons well and don't die every minute haha. Now that's good for GS and hammer, easy quick charge, the skill that allows you to charge your attacks faster, now you have another that allows you to quickly sheathe the weapon or when you take out the weapon it is guaranteed a critical hit, for GS it's good, priority quick charge, breaks parts is good for hammer. Then there's another skill that's pretty good. But I'll leave that for tomorrow. I've already closed the game XD, but to summarize the skill that allows you to charge your attacks faster is essential, then you can search for whatever you want, improve defenses, etc.

I haven't died at all in the last three games because they're easy. So that's not the issue. My issue is that since World all those wannabe tryhards running DPS meters ♥♥♥♥♥ and maon about when you don't do x amound of dps or use one of the OP meta builds to speedrun everything like TDS. Multiplayer is unplayable with these probably new people who implement MMO mechanics into a series that never had such. Getting kicked and isnulted with racial and ableist slurs for not playing meta when responding to SOS is insane.
Not everything needs to be killed in 2 seconds.
Oh and btw, I've been playing with TDS a while abck in MH4U but I distanced myself after Canta turned out to be a homophobic ass. TDS are overrated and shouldn't be taken as the bar for people who joined into the series. Speedrunning wasn't the majority of the playerbase but unfortunately it shifted when the series became popular.
But anyways, thanks. I think I found a suitable set now. I haven't really played GS that much over all games and I wanted to try out something new this time. Hammer however is as backup weapon for easy crowd control via stun in group situations. Also it was the first weapon I mained. In the beta the combo worked pretty well.

you got the worst of the game, in my case we still play 4 or 5 people from the times when we played 3U in 3ds, there will always be stupid people in all games, luckily I never met any of those you mention, I think it was luck, I just finished the story, of the high rank monsters no armor comes out with fast sheathing and fast charging... I did meet the normal rathalos and it has excellent armor to play with normal damage duals and the variant is very good for elemental duals. although at the moment I am looking for some armor with aggressive blocking, the other option that allows you to block everything and finally the one that reduces damage when you block, the sword and shield to my liking is veeeery good, the gunlance despite being slow is hitting like the gods too, now something very good but difficult to master is the Hunting Horn, it has very op combinations. for speed runs the crossbows will surely come out again, as always they are very good and versatile.

Honestly game is so easy mostly anything works so far, but in general just stack attack bonuses and uses the right element against the right monster and you will be fine.
It's as meta as most MH games gets honestly, it's not a really complicated game franchise.

Just like I told the other guy before, you're just unlucky. I've played with guys who know perfectly how to play with their weapons. Now, if you don't want anyone to hit you, you have a new decoration. It only needs 1 space and gives you the ability to not hit your teammates or receive impact from them. That's it. Problem solved. You no longer have to worry about someone with LS or a hammer taking you off the map.

It is definitely the easiest MH in history, I am tremendously disappointed, I am already fighting against the variants and all the plagues in the world and they are disappointing. It has no difficulty at all. What a shame that we go from a game to a casual game without difficulty.

It's too early, people still testing different builds (and farming for them) and meta will change after tests.
