Played 12hours on launch without ANY issues and everything started after Arkveld, now its a nightmare... Really wish Capcom will fix this soon enough but we'll have to see.
I know that it will get fixed in the future, but still I am bummed out.
This might be a clue to something, however we probably can't do anything. I'm just going to refrain from playing for like a week until a few more patches come out, then turn back on all my stuff and see if it works.
i spent more time trying to fix problems than anything the last few days and it's exhausting
today i spent 5h with stresstests of all my components, and nothing is faulty
i'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glad to read that someone else has the very same problem
doesn't help anyone, but i'm just glad that it isn't a weird problem on my end
i hate that while standing around idle in the game and reading my phone the PC just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ freezes
today everything froze, but the mouse, and then even the mouse was unmoveable, so i had to hard shut down the PC once again
event viewer show N O T H I N G before the freeze
i kept watching the temperatures and utilization, everything pretty normal, no sudden spikes, nothing over the edge or over the top
played around with BIOS, turned off C-States, turned off all possible OC and options that boost anything
nope
nothing to do with it AT A L L
its the games fault, didn't ever have those problems with any game, not with COD, not with elden ring etc.
checked event viewers the only critical error i see is "system failed to shutdown properly" that's all you'll get. i did get a windows dmp file, looked into that and it shows "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)" which is linked to "nvlddmkm" which is related to nvidia drivers. i'm on the latest drivers so idk what is doing it.
PSU is fine as well as my system temps. this also only happens with monster hunter wilds.
Not a game issue. That is a hardware issue you describing.
In case this applies to you:
performance -> custom -> GPU Tuning
drag down the Max Frequency by 10-20% and see if it still crashes. If there are no crashes, increase it a bit and try again till you figure out the sweet spot.
Good luck
Meanwhile I can't even run the game without compatibility mode on windows which causes massive screen flicker. Wilds ran fine with 35-50 FPS during all beta tests, that's why I bought it. Now it crashes on launch after Capcom's last minute changes and their fix are AMD drivers that don't support my GPU. Excellent.
The game runs without any issues on Linux on the same system, but there I can't run a propper upscaler and Capcom's built in version looks like ass.
So after the beta ran perfectly fine, I can now decide between compatibility mode flicker, and poorly performing, blurry pixel soup after launch.
Sry, had to vent. It's so stupid.
