Help needed!!! The game crashes my entire pc!!!
Hey I'd like some help with my issue. The first time I booted up the game I played for 7 hours straight with no issues.
I then booted it up again after a few hours, I was doing the black flame fight. However my entire pc crashes after about 10 minutes into the fight. After trying a few times and doing the following things it seemed fixed:
1. Clean newest driver install (the new one with mhwilds support)
2. Granting admin priviledges to mhwilds
3. Lowering settings
4. Turning off upscaling and frame gen(which I already had turned off, but wanted to clarify)
5. Tuning the virtual memory page size
6. Verifying file integrity
7. Closing every other thing I have opened, including things running in the background
8. Disabled all overclocking
9. Checking my directx version
10. Forcing it to use dx11 and afterwards dx12
And after all this it still happened again.

What I now did is that I lowered my ram from 5600MHz to 5200Mhz, however I do not have time to fully test this, as it is already almost 2 am for me.

If anyone has any other tips please help! My entire pc crashes, on the motherboard when crashing it will flash the red error boot light. I have never had this happen on any other game.

These are my specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
2 x 16 gb ddr5 5600MHz corsair vengeance
AMD Radeon RX 6850XT
Asus tuf gaming b650-plus
cooler master gold 850W psu
I have the game installed on a crucial P3 1TB m.2 drive

I will be checking in again tomorrow, any help will be greatly appreciated! For all replies, thank you!

If your PC turned off either your CPU got very hot or your PSU is failing.
For me it was my Graphics card. It is a 1080 Geforce(I know, not great, not even on the recoomneded, its when i tried a 2080 graphics car, it tanked my system. Found i had a dead Ram card. Dont know if it was from the 2080 Card seizing out, but now everything is running fine. Got a AMD series 7 Graphics card with a new power supply to replace it. Was going to replace anyways, this exp just kinda narrowed what i need to upgrade.
Exact same issue here, tried everything too. The game freezes without reasons (tho mostly in fights) then after a few seconds, the entire pc freezes and the only way out is to hold the power button.

Played 12hours on launch without ANY issues and everything started after Arkveld, now its a nightmare... Really wish Capcom will fix this soon enough but we'll have to see.
I have the same problem as you my game after 10h freezes without a reasons and windows is restarting itself
Same here, 13700kf & 7900xtx what seems like at completely random intervals the game freezes and then locks up my whole pc. I've overclocked, under clocked, ran at default, turned up settings, turned down settings and nothing seems to help. I saw a few people say it might be caused by the high resolution texture pack do I got rid of that but it still happens.
Thanks for all the comments! It sucks that this is happening for more people. Honestly I am more saddened than angry, as I have waited for over a year for this game, bought this on a student salary with a part time job. Upgraded my pc to handle the next monster hunter title, again on a student salary. And I just can't play the game.

I know that it will get fixed in the future, but still I am bummed out.
My system is also freezing. Not to be confused with a restart from overheating. I've tried reinstalling my drivers, changing settings, colds boots, just about anything else you can think of. What I notice as odd was, at first I was sure it was because the app was demanding too much from the GPU with the default settings. When I turned the graphics down I got some play time out of it, then eventually it started happening again anyways. Now I'm noticing a spike in network usage each time the game stutters before locking my system up.

This might be a clue to something, however we probably can't do anything. I'm just going to refrain from playing for like a week until a few more patches come out, then turn back on all my stuff and see if it works.
If you get it running we will w8 for you posting a new thread about hhow it stopped running after 10 hours of play time. What do you think that you should do? Have troubles withh in later on or play a different game
try disabling any gaming overlay and check the event viewer for more information.
i'm glad i'm not the only one
i spent more time trying to fix problems than anything the last few days and it's exhausting

today i spent 5h with stresstests of all my components, and nothing is faulty

i'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glad to read that someone else has the very same problem
doesn't help anyone, but i'm just glad that it isn't a weird problem on my end
i hate that while standing around idle in the game and reading my phone the PC just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ freezes
today everything froze, but the mouse, and then even the mouse was unmoveable, so i had to hard shut down the PC once again

event viewer show N O T H I N G before the freeze
i kept watching the temperatures and utilization, everything pretty normal, no sudden spikes, nothing over the edge or over the top

played around with BIOS, turned off C-States, turned off all possible OC and options that boost anything
nope
nothing to do with it AT A L L

its the games fault, didn't ever have those problems with any game, not with COD, not with elden ring etc.
I'm in the same boat, game will suddenly lock up, monitor will start to flash black screens, audio then starts to screw up then hard crash and reboot.

checked event viewers the only critical error i see is "system failed to shutdown properly" that's all you'll get. i did get a windows dmp file, looked into that and it shows "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)" which is linked to "nvlddmkm" which is related to nvidia drivers. i'm on the latest drivers so idk what is doing it.

PSU is fine as well as my system temps. this also only happens with monster hunter wilds.

Not a game issue. That is a hardware issue you describing.
There have been reports from AMD users where GPUs run higher frequencies than they can handle, and reducing that stopped the crashes.

In case this applies to you:

performance -> custom -> GPU Tuning
drag down the Max Frequency by 10-20% and see if it still crashes. If there are no crashes, increase it a bit and try again till you figure out the sweet spot.

Good luck

Meanwhile I can't even run the game without compatibility mode on windows which causes massive screen flicker. Wilds ran fine with 35-50 FPS during all beta tests, that's why I bought it. Now it crashes on launch after Capcom's last minute changes and their fix are AMD drivers that don't support my GPU. Excellent.

The game runs without any issues on Linux on the same system, but there I can't run a propper upscaler and Capcom's built in version looks like ass.

So after the beta ran perfectly fine, I can now decide between compatibility mode flicker, and poorly performing, blurry pixel soup after launch.
Sry, had to vent. It's so stupid.

Not necessarily. The error listed specifically mentions the display driver, so it COULD be a hardware issue, but it doesn't have to be.
