Start charging a greatsword swing in its face, "authorization granted" right on that third beat for the first hit to be a full charged swing. Too satisfying
Some people really enjoy how immersive the experience can feel if you care about that.
You name it, it's called Monster Hunter, not Monster Poachers.
That’s such a painfully shallow take. Just because it's called Monster Hunter doesn’t mean it should be a brain-dead monster-killing simulator with zero depth. The worldbuilding, ecosystem, and immersion are what make the hunts actually feel cohesive instead of feeling like a mindless arcade game. If you think all that should be tossed aside just so you can turn your brain off and swing a big sword, you’re completely missing what makes the series special.
It's rule on guild
You didn't kill monster because you want to
Yeah, except you can kill anything you want without any orders. One moment you are being authorized to hunt something, the next moment you are going on a rampage killing herbivores that were just standing there not being a threat. Also you can hunt anything without authorization, there are no repercussions for it, your support doesn't even comment on the fact you just ignored guild orders. Also, there's the "I authorize MYSELF!" bit which made me laugh.
It's just a silly thing, nothing more. I understand the spirit behind it and I like they tried to make it a thing, but it just doesn't work with, the ludonarrative dissonance ruins it.
You’re acting like Monster Hunter is a strict military operation when in reality, it’s more like managed conservation with room for hunter discretion. The Guild authorizations exist to control major threats and maintain balance, not to micromanage every single hunt. Just because you can kill random monsters doesn’t mean the system is broken, it just reflects the reality that hunters operate independently outside of official missions.
And let's be real, the "I authorize MYSELF!" moment is a dramatic way of showing the hunter taking responsibility in a crisis, not some deep contradiction. If anything, it reinforces how the Guild isn’t some absolute authority pulling every string but rather an organization that trusts hunters to make judgment calls when needed. Like with many gameplay elements, you’re meant to interpret your hunter as operating within the Guild’s rules as you have seen play out in the story, you just don’t always see the formal authorization before every hunt. The game gives you freedom, but it’s understood that you're still doing the job as expected.
Bro did you follow the story?
"I authorize MYSELF" Its uknown teritory for them and they just basically arrive there, it's her authority to make a judge and permision to hunt a monster that's why she following you around
That’s not really what’s happening in-game. Your hunter is a professional, not some reckless killer. Everything you do is lore wise within expected bounds.
