Forced into Offline Mode
I can start up just fine and even join a lobby. The moment I try to join an SOS or someone in the lobby posts a quest I get kicked and thrown into offline singleplayer with an R359F-0-0:5 error. Doesn't prevent me from joining again, just repeats the boot. Even tried starting the game in offline mode and then going to online/SOS missions and just repeats to booting me again with it taking me actually mounting up once getting in before booting me if i manage to slide into an SoS mission

There is no "offline mode" per se -- the game is a "games as a service" title, and everything, even solo play, is technically online.

The "You are currently in Offline Mode. To return to Online Mode, talk to your Hanlder to access the communication functions in the Change Lobby Menu" message I get every single time I try to join an SoS would disagree with you
You probably have to install an update.

na its not a live service title, it has matchmaking servers and gameplay/lobbies are handled with steamworks p2p

if matchmaking servers went down, all you would lose is the ability to find other players but you can still invite them via steam if you know their id

in op's case they can't connect to the matchmaking servers for w/e reason but do know right now is pretty much worst case scenario for servers.

So it is playable offline? If so couldn't modders bypass the character edit restrictions?

And they probably will once the game has actually been out and people have had a chance to dig into the files. Just take a look at the mods for Rise and World.

Did end up finding a fix, just turning off crossplay let me join other pc/steam users no issue

Just to confirm, it is 100% playable without an internet connection?

Until Denuvo wants you to go online to ask permission to keep playing, it will work offline, yes.

Yes, it will bump you into Offline Singleplayer Mode if you dissconnect at anypoint from an online game as is, but if you are unable to connect to an internet access point/offline on steam it will start up in Offline Mode as well.

Well, it IS a live service title, that's what the title updates and temporary events quests are. It's just a temporary live service title.

thats all just semantics wat is important is that u can still play offline up to an extend and lets say all capcom servers go down we can still play it without further modifications

Interestingly you can do that with Monster Hunter Rise. Monster Hunter Wilds on Playstation 5 - not so sure.
There seems to be an issue where you encounter constant "could not connect to the server" errors with a variety of error codes. There's a dozen different ways to "fix" it but none of them really work.
