Black screen on launch
Anyone else been unable to even boot the game? I get a black screen when I launch the game and haven't been able to get into any portion of the game. I've tried uninstalling the game, updating all my drivers, and still nothing.

same here gonna reboot my laptop now

running on rtx 3050
8gb ram
i5 processor
acer nitro v15
Same thing for me, but only when using my amd radeon 6700XT
I've used another setup with 4090 and it worked fine

Just to make sure, we're talking about the same thing, for me: the game launches, a nearly full screen black/grey screen appears, re-sizes to a slightly smaller box with the black/grey screen, then becomes completely unresponsive. Trying to stop the game in steam either doesn't work or works only after 10+ minutes, and otherwise steam says the game is currently running.
exact same for me. Probably should have mentioned that I'm running 7800xt, i7, and 32G of RAM. Somehow if have like 2 hours of playtime despite never seeing the start menu.
Same for me. Game just becomes a black window, cant be closed or anything. But I did get into the start menu once, then never again.
Oh also got a Ryzen5 7600, 16gbs of ram and an rx7800 xt

That means nothing without the whole report.

Plus you have so little RAM, it is worrisome that you might run into the savegame issue because of that.

See here for how to share your DxDiag report

You don't meet the minimum requirements for the game -- it's been said a trillion times, but when you don't meet the minimum requirements for the game, the game can simply stop working for you without any explanation whatsoever.

You can try increasing your page memory to get around that little bit of RAM (you probably need to set 16-24GB page file), but that doesn't guarantee you will be playing or even having a good experience. (even though the game is a bad one for most people :steamhappy: )

Yep. You run out of memory. So hard that one bluescreen was inevitable so it seems.

I recommend to refund it if you have not played more than two hours yet. If it worked before, then yes, it is possible to make it work again. But not good.

You only have 16GB of RAM, thing is with games that do this shader compilation nonsense even if they say they only need 16GB RAM you are better off having 32GB RAM.

Now, not everyone wants to run out and buy more RAM. Not every board can handle 4 sticks + of RAM, not every CPU can do that.

So what you can do is try to increase your paged memory pool to a static size to emulate having more RAM. For you, you'd want to set it minimum 16384 MB (16GB) and see if the issue improves.

You can follow here:

https://www.maketecheasier.com/change-pagefile-size-location-windows/

You should also make sure you have the latest GPU driver, you can get it from AMD's website or use the auto install tool. For 7800XT (your GPU?)

https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html

Now, if that does not improve the issue and it continues to crash and you can refund, that's always the best option regardless if a game is buggy IMO, but some people MUST play a game...
