So a guy that looks like Erik, and who has played Erik-like characters, was cast to voice Erik. And they did a good job. It's almost as if the casting decision was based on his extensive acting career and not his demographic.
Second, did we all forget that Goku was voiced by a woman?
Ash ketchum too!
A lot of male characters were voiced by women, it's not who voices the character that should bother you, it is whether whoever voiced the character did a good job.
I the case of Erik, I think this Casey dude did a good enough job. Erik sounds like an effeminate guy, and looks the part too. So what's the issue?
It's not like capcom is selling you hormone replacement for your kids because of this Casey person. So calm down and pick your fights better.
I don't feel like reading through 23 pages of braindead takes in a thread the OP couldn't handle having their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ called out in. did we ever get an answer this question? or just the usual vague conspiratorial witch-hunt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they've been saying about everyone in the lgbt+ spectrum?
Monster hunter is a Japanese game and androgynous young guys are not uncommon in those.
But i could be wrong until we get an official statement on if he is trans or not this is just my conclusion from years of experience consuming Japanese media.
The character itself in game isn't trans, they refer to him as a him and he never disputes that once in game. He is a very danger prone ecological expert it seems who gets lost in though and just approaches monsters and dangerous situations that's about it lol
The voice actor who voices him is appernetly a they/them from my understanding what ever that exactly means lol not my scene but I show basic decency to fellow humans not my business.
This is the exact crap people talk about that it isn't enough to merely not bring it into games, these people's mere existence and in this case employment is all it takes. Disgusting to have this lvl of behavior over the mere fact the VA has a life and job, not bothering anyone did "force it into game" but its still not enough. Seriously who cares lol these people get to have lives to dammit!
It is standard japanese character archetype you can find in almost every single manga and anime.
I disagree, I think he both looks and sounds like a dude.
like you, i don't see why make a big deal about it.
