Worst CO-OP experience I have had in a game

First off, I'm a Monster Hunter "casual". I have less than a 100 hours total between all Monster Hunter titles. My perspective and approach to this game is essentially that of a brand new player to the franchise. With that being said, I likely would not have even got this game if not for the option for co-op.

It's terrible, but to be specific, the experience of getting into a game with a friend is terrible, along with the lackluster ACTUALLY co-op experience.

• Can't do story together at all.
  
• Can't be in a camp together? But can see other players in camps?
  
• Can only join eachother during the monster fight, and after that it resets and you need to rejoin at next monster fight again. So, if I ride out of a camp and just explore about, gathering and fighting monsters small, or big, my friend can't be there with me. I HAVE to start a quest at the town, and then we have a timed window where we can adventure around the zone and kill the monster for that quest, then must repeat that process over again.
  
• If you are at any step of an assignment (Story) quest that isnt basically the very first step, you cant even invite a friend to your group, and are forced to complete that assignment before you can group up to fight a monster.

This pretty much scratches the surface of how bad the co-op is, but to be fair, here is some good.

SOS: I'f i'm struggling alone with a monster, and I do often, I can drop an SOS and players can join SOS quest's quite easily and rapidly, providing prompt relief to my misery.

Uhhhh, I actually cant think of anything else good with the co-op...

I gotta say I agree with you. I quit playing a bit ago because I got tired of having to regroup after every fight. I don't see why we can't join a group and just do all the quests together at the same time.

It's sad to see such an amazing game with an amazing core gameplay loop, be fumbled by no persistent co-op experience in the year 2025.
