The entire scene before you finally go to face akveld you have nata saying that tradition is "chaining" people just like akveld is tasked with being the guardian of the people. Then nata pulls out this gem that he is "just like akveld," and how much he identifies with the monster.
nata's favorite thing about akveld is that he overcame his programming to be a helper because, and I quote, "he just wanted to live!" (akveld murders everything it sees indiscriminately and is tearing the region apart because it's mind-controlled by a synthetic elder dragon). then nata cheers on that akveld "even learned how to eat" (synthetic monsters don't need to eat, so akveld is just doing it to commit suicide).
Not 10 seconds later, you see a crazed, clearly suffering akveld force-feeding himself the corpses of monsters even though he doesn't even have a stomach to digest food. the akveld is "enjoying" his "freedom" so much he clearly wants to die.
This has to be a parody.
