black screen pc shutdown
So guys... the only bug i encountered so far (or the only one I actively encountered) is one of the worst issues you can have. Easily said at some point I change the map (loading screen into a mission, out of a mission etc.) my PC went dark and shutdown. If i restart the pc my bluethooth is gone and i have to restart the system again to see it back.

7800X3d
7900 XT
650 Watts Gold
32 DDR5
its on an seagate Firecuda 530 NVME.

at first i though it may be my power supply. 650 Watts is hard on the edge of a shutdown. But then.. why when changing maps? why never when fighting? Other games i play like ark asa (which is unoptimized Junk compared to here) are demanding more power and i never got a shutdown there.
It happens only on map changes.. so i though it could be FSR. I saw some thread and tested the force dxd11 and disabling FSR full. Only having AFMF active in the amd drivers. even then it happens.

now i verified the integrity of my game files. Some other ideas?

I'm seeing a similar issue. Screen freezes for a split second if even that and then the PC instantly shuts off and reboots. I can't really pinpoint a certain trigger for it, just happens.

I've never had issues like that, it's only with MHWilds. Interestingly it was also all fine for me on launch day where I played like 6-7 hours straight and has worsened ever since.
I feel like with the amount of people having it happen this must be some fatal bug on the games side

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
RTX 4090 (driver up to date)
64GB RAM
PSU 1000W
Installed on Samsung SSD 870 QVO 8TB
No frame gen, but DLSS

I'm having the same issues and I have a similar rig as well.
And just like Psycho Bunny said, it seemed to get worse. It happened twice while in two separate Uth Duna missions and once while loading to start a multiplayer quest.

My rig:
7800X3d
7900 XT
32GB RAM
750W PSU

I have my FPS capped at 60, no frame gen.

since the update this morning my shutdown problem is solved i guess
computers are weird living thinghs aren't they?my best friend still rocks an i5 6700k more than 10 years old..he used it for like 1 week with broke cooling system everytime the pc restarted he kept playing.since he was telling me i went to is home and checked(cpu always 100 degress) and finally i made him change the cooling system..he still played thou waiting for the new one pc shut down after shut down..nothing..when i went there i also discovered he blocked a fan of the gpu because it was makin noise??..and with that pc is still playin mhwilds today around 60 fps normal lossless scaling..wtf???.anyway yes this game runs very hot like world after release

On my side, it's still crashing, unfortunately. I wonder if I should try to reinstall it as well.
I guess I'll try that when I have the chance and see if it makes a difference.

I also experience these blackscreen crashes, it’s really frustrating when it happens while hunting.
Specs:
4090
7800X3D
1200W PSU
32GB DDR5

What texture quality is everyone using? I had this issue with the Highest quality pack but it changed into normal Fatal D3D error crashes after turning it down to High.

Also like Psycho Bunny, I also found the game didn't have any stability issues at launch - only after the first patch. I'm currently assessing whether a full reinstall of the game has helped; I've not crashed since, but I also updated drivers and did a shader cache purge at the same time, and haven't played enough to be confident in stability yet.

Specs:
7950X3D
7900XTX (24.12.1 -> 25.2.1 -> 25.3.1)
1600W Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 PSU
64GB DDR5
Installed on Samsung 870 EVO SSD (SATA)

Game settings at 4k resolution, ultra settings but with frame gen and upscaling disabled, texture quality High or Highest.

(Edited to for PSU and install location)

Edit2: Moving the installation onto my NVMe has helped.

Gigabyte B650 Motherboard
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32 GB RAM
Nvidia RTX 4080 SUPER
850 PSU

All settings are at minimum, FPS limited to 60 FPS. GPU runs at 70% on the windy plains, complete shutdown occurs randomly when loading.
I *replaced* my PSU with another 850 of a higher quality and still get these shutdowns.
I previously got a random shutdown *once* in Marvel Rivals back at the beginning of February, but it hasn't done it at all since, but MH Wilds has done it to me 6 times now.
I have straight up uninstalled I'm so upset about how I built this computer *for this game* and it can't run it at an acceptable level without risking long-term damage to my brand new machine.

7800X3D
7900XTX
32gb ram
1000w PSU

settings mix of high and medium plays 99% of the time absolutely fine but 2nd time this has happened... PC just shutting down, only with MH Wilds...

Wait, the vast majority of CPUs in this thread are AMDs. I had noticed my PC shut down when it reached a certain percentage of usage during a loading screen...
...but it went to 100% when loading up FFXIV and it was fine.
Could there be something about Wilds and AMD cards that causes a power spike and trips our PSUs?
OFC it happens again.. just shutdown like hell.

It could be but the spikes need to be extremly high. I downclock my GPU to 150 Watts down und its still shutting down. No other games does it so it must be a problem with this speciffic game -.-
YO! Your PSU is not rated to run all that...

Well you have to remember the game in its buggy state is pulling more power than those other games. Actual power draw on the system can be much higher than you expect, and there's lots of reasons why the PC would shut down -- usually overheat or power draw issue.

You're using a PSU under the recommended rating for that GPU, so once it gets stressed hard with the CPU you could be reaching the limit of the PSU. And because you can have other things connected to your PC, it might reach that point sooner than thought.

At any rate, power cutting off and PC shutdown is usually called by the BIOS and NOT Windows. It will usually be linked to an issue with power, heat, or a component causing a short circuit. Rarely is it ever software.

Also what do you mean you downclock the GPU down in power? That won't happen, it will still push up to it's maximum power in certain scenarios unless you changed the vBIOS on it.

GPUs have more than one engine, just like CPUS. GPUs have video decode, particle, 3D, ray acceleration, math, and shader engines. When all of those are being used, then the GPU will pull ALOT of power and its designed to do so until it's coded limit.
What controller are you using? There's a weird crashing issue with DS4s and Dualsenses with certain configurations.
