Yian Kut-ku Quest help

First MonHun game, stuck on this one as it wants me to capture the Kut-ku but... I have no idea how to do that I know I need to trap it but no clue what to do after that and I always end up killing it >.>

Need to gather the mats to craft traps and tranq bombs. Trap tools (from store in camp), Webs, Thunder bugs, Sleeping herbs and Paralyze Shrooms.

Though, I think that quest mentioned you got the items for it so check in with the support cat if you can get items from him that have a trap?

You need to weaken a monster till they get the skull on the minimap (palico will call it out too). Put down a trap and make the monster walk into it, then rush to throw 2 tranq bombs on them before they get out. They'll fall asleep and be captured.

Not neccecary actually, there is a button you can press while riding your mount that gives you access to quest items, the trap and tranq bombs will be in there.

Note that you will have to lower the monster's HP to the point where the skull appears on the minimap after which the items appear in that mount menu.

First, get some traps and tranquilizers like the guy above me said, then find a Kut-Ku, beat it within an inch of its life, and when you hear the voiceline that the monster is weak, stop attacking, drop a trap on it and gas it with tranqs. Also look at the mouth, is it drooling? It's trap time

Traps I have, tranq bombs i do not... Support cat has nothing either sadly so off to figure out how to make tranq bombs I go, Many thanks

Ahh so that's where that was, lol. I went through the game without those items I think, lol. Always just picked up rations at ingredient guy in camp.

Oh, very useful to know! This saves me time to go craft tranq bombs

The mouth is a tell for when to trap along with voicelines. noted I shall try again! Thank you all

2x sleep herbs at river at 10 in plains I think for quick access. Lots of shrooms in the forest.

Also if the monster is limping that also means it's weak enough to be trapped. Usually it runs away to its nest and goes to sleep. You can easily trap it there assuming you're able to place a trap where it's resting.

Ow is that only when they're low enough for capture? I thought that was with any exhaustion?

Also, if they're low enough you usually see them limp off to other maps rather than running. They also often retreat to a certain zone and go to sleep there, which makes it easy to deploy trap for capture.

The quest is not obvious because tranq bombs and traps are added to your cho seikret ONLY WHEN GIRL SAYS HOW YOU CAN CAPTURE IT!
They are NOT in seikret's supply when mission starts!

There's a tutorial for how traps and tranq bombs work once you get them; there's even a popup telling you that the tutorial is there. There's also nothing wrong with having to figure things out in games, in fact it's fun for many people. lol

I don't blame you, this quest was confusing even for a long time monster hunter fan such as myself. I expected essential quest items to be given right at the start of the quest so i was running around desperately trying to find the mats to make a tranq bomb until i found out i had to get it ready to be captured before i was given the items. Honestly I'm not a big fan of the removal of the blue quest item box in favor for the seikret pouch
