This cannot be forged or upgraded yet. BUG?

I'm currently HR 20 and have beaten the story, but i still cannot upgrade any weapon beyond rarity 2 as everyone of them says "This cannot be forged or upgraded yet."

am i missing something i had to do to unlock them or is it a bug that others are having?

Side note: I have all the materials needed to craft them.

Follow the weapon tree, you have to build the weapon before it. The ones with the little hammer icon means you can start building from there.

I have the same but with Armor. I have beaten the monsters and have some items. But i cant craft some of the armor pieces.
Thou im not far in the storry yet.
Will i be able to craft them later on?

I have that issue with some armor. Even though I'm way past that scale the game won't always let me make all parts of an armor.

LIKELY the armor u are talking about is missing half the set? this is because it uses parts from a FEW hours later part of the story.

You just have to progress further an it unlocks
