Arachnophobia mode
the Arachnophobia mode IS NOT WORKING IF THERE IS A GIANT SPIDER BOSS (WICH IS NOT A SIDE BOSS) IN A CLOSED AREA FULL OF WEBS!!!

It's not going to eat you, man up
I have a severe case of arachnophobia, even tiny spiders freak me out, and larger spiders make me hyperventilate. With that said, the spider boss is not a spider, and is not freaky what so ever. lol The only freaky thing is the gerky movements but that just makes it really easy to dodge.
Yeah I think the arachnophobia mode only alters the appearance of small monsters and 'endemic life'. Massive oversight to not make it work on the huge spider. But tbh most people (including myself) who have a fear of spiders do not mind it when the spider portrayed is MASSIVE and sort of 'cartoony'. Not saying this is the same for everyone of course, but maybe that's a reasoning for them not changing it
nope, my arachnophibia cant handle it, my insticts just tell me to shut off the game in an instant. waiting for a friend now to do it for me XD

i think you do not understand what fear means, its like a mental illness and has nothing to do with "man up" its just a complete fear that just tells me to run away as fast as possible without strength to do anything else.

Most people who don't have arachnophobia usually don't understand. It would be a pointless argument if you try to explain it because they will never get it. Then again, most people who say things like this are afraid of sharks, which are arguably less dangerous and much easier to avoid.

you know phobias are IRRATIONAL fear or aversion to something right? It doesn't matter how "brave" you are or whatever you want to tell yourselves. It's like all the transphobes that have an irrational hate of people they've never met. Sometimes the human brain just tells you to run regardless of rational thought or reality.

To be fair towards the devs/artists, coming up with something somewhat resembling the general shape and thus movements of that fooking spoider WOULD require a lot more time/ressource than "merely" changing up the annoying "little" pets scurrying about.

Mostly because animations are important for big monsters, small monsters can just like screech and wiggle to deal dmg, "bosses" not so much.

A bit more indepth;
That monster has a skeleton to which its model, hitboxes and its animations are mapped on.
Thus you can't just simply, as in with no real work involved, swap the model for something else.
Also, which model?
I think because arachnophobia isn't that widespread WITHIN the Monster Hunter fanbase (afterall, ain't the first time we got spider-qeuse monsters, big or small), they will not create a model swap or similar on the spot.
I DO however exspect an eventual expansion/free-lc Monster to show up with a suspisciously similar moveset/hitbox.
Probably won't swap the main story line quests for it, but I could see them allow using either monsters' mats for weapons/upgrades interchangebly, so people could chose not to face one of their metaphorical worst fears.

Tl;dr:
Something something ridicule, grow up, git gud, typical fan boy moment, monster hunter died with Ultimate
Dude. I hate spiders.

I feel like they could have did what hogwarts legacy or that one game where your the size of an ant, and turn the graphic detail down for arachnophobia mode or remove features like the fangs cause that and the way the legs look are what got me

They're basically crabs anyway, get over it. Face your fear instead of being coddled all the time! :stronk: :summer2021horror:
I was really hoping it worked for the big ones cause in the trailer this exact monster is what made me shudder.i didn't know it was a main quest boss let alone know how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soon/early in the game it is 😭. I just got to it and paused to see if I can do something about it (which led me here). My one friend just went to bed and I hate this level so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much 😭. I wish the damn model would atleast turn the graphics down on them cause the fangs and the legs are what is really freaking me out.
I have Lilapsophobia and even the thought of tornadoes gives me goosebumps, make my spine to chill. It's like something dripping or flowing inside the back of you. Trust me i know the feeling... But I finished Just Cause 4, Battlefield 2042 and other games that revolve around tornadoes. Yes i felt the same as you, at first hours i couldn't even go near them but eventually you MUST do that to progress or compete. Those are games and this is also a game after all. It can't hurt you, it can't reach you. In action you won't be even able think of that. Just focus on your move set conquer and kill it! Have bountiful huntings!
It's not a spider. It only has 4 legs. Chill.
I thought about turning this one but the spiders kinda don't look like spiders so you might be alright but if it's bad enough toggle it on.
