HBG needs a nerf.
With the heavy bowgun you get a ton of mods at start that you had to earn in worlds and they don't take a mod slot. Wyvernheart does increased damage per shot automatically. Wyvernheart and spread opens up wounds like crazy on solo play. I took down Dashagura during the second optional quest and was able to get a 16 value armor before I even left the desert. Taking on two monsters at a time at the beginning of the game, one being one I am not even supposed to hunt yet, is just crazy. I like the improvements to HBG sort of but they need to dial back the wounds and things and maybe the raw damage numbers. I was doing hundreds of damage right of the bat. Also so far hunts are about 6-7 minutes for me solo. Not 15 or 20. The damage output from the base HBG is so insane I feel bad for the monsters I'm hunting.

all weapons should be nerfed then.
the game was designed to be sold to a mass of "players" who need to consume 1 different game per day recommended by their favorite tutor and YouTuber while feeling incredibly talented but effortless.
the lifespan of 1000k on MH at the time when it was considered a niche game is over - here in 50 hours you will all be finished, including DLC.
it is now a hamburger to be eaten on site.

I haven't tested the other weapons yet. I'm trying to find a reason to engage with half the mechanics of the HBG. Regardless, enough of the player base asking for nerfs or Monster buffs can result in a change. Your view is true but defeatist In attitude.

yes it's true, I really like this license - it's my favorite by far but I'm not a good player and I'm more of the resistant type than dps and yet even while remaining very defensive they fall far too quickly and I'm disappointed by that, the game remains excellent despite everything but I fear for the lifespan

Yeah we'll see how you feel when you try to kill a fast moving monster with spread ammo. I tore through the everything in the desert too til I hit something that didnt move like a tank...

First monster that moved quick and dodged was the end of being able to use spread ammo period if the monster wasnt stunned. Took me almost 20min to kill the sand worm thing cause it moved too fast to hit with spread without me getting hit too cause the recoil is so bad you cant move or guard fast enough after shooting.

Had to switch my gun setup for spread ammo to normal ammo to finish the thing off to keep from carting.

HBG is still good just not with spread. All recoil adjustment has been removed so were stuck with massive uncontrollable recoil. If you wanna use spread like a GS or hammer that might be doable but that mostly leaves Norm, Pierce and Ele ammo as the only viable option for ALL bowguns

Woo buddy someone needs a class in HBG
Today's games aren't meant to challenge players; they are meant to indulge them. If anything, everything should be buffed, and the monsters made to stand still and no longer attack.
I second that "do us all a favour and stfu". We do not want nerfs.

The HBG feels infinitely better to use thanks to these changes. Weapons in general seem to feel less awkward to use.

There's no recoil down? That's annoying. Recoil seems pretty extreme on the tutorial HBG...

heavey bow guns mechanics are kinda weird you mainly pick a spesic part of it and build in favor of it eg i love spread ammo HBG so i build for that some people go all in for peirce or sticky ammo builds

i half agree spread IS really good if you can compinsait the recoil like in world but none of the HBG ive used do so i switched to bow cause i love spread ammo builds
Ranged weapons have needed to be nerfed since 4th gen Monster Hunter. We are preaching to the choir.
