why is this a thing? every time a monster does something my camera gets locked so i have to look at it. I am not some kind of blind idiot I am aware that the monsters in this game have the ability to do things and move around I dont need you to hold my hand and show me "Look Look the Balahara is burrowing and moving away" yes bro I can see that let me carve the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tail in peace

STOP CRYING
alot of the storyline is on rails your kinda stuck with it for the 1st encounter of everything nearly wilds is a great game but they could have done a ton of QoL improvements especially in the co-op multiplayer department.

There's a setting to not only remove focus camera but to stop the camera from acknowledging new monsters whatsoever. Give them a perusal.
Oh fun, by your nose narrative... I suggest they remove this, it detracts from immersion.

If the above is true, fantastic, I hate that approach to story telling in a game

If we could link pictures I absolutely would. But to make it as painless as possible.

Go to camera > page 2 > at the bottom turn off focus camera.
Go to camera > page 4 > turn off monster sighting.

HAPPY HUNTING! :lev:
thanks miku

Is there.... a way to stop the victory camera, I've been told 'Esc' and 'M' but neither work and it gets annoying sometimes

When the victory camera comes, you get the button prompt to end quest instantly - if you hold that button. If you just press that button, not holding, it will abort the victory camera and you get control back instantly.

Press, not holding.

Alternatively, there is a mod which automatically disables it.

There are options in camera settings for disabling this dumb lock on feature. Works for first encounters and in general.
