Most people were introduced to the franchise in MH World and everything looked very hard because it was their first time playing it. Now a Barroth would be extremely easy to you, I believe.
So in fact you're not complaining about the game being easy. You just wanted to feel the same level of challenge you felt when you were bad at the game, but that would only be possible by making monsters extremely hard for new players.
IQ deficit
You mean worlds was so good that this game has so many players right.
I played my first MH game on 3Ds it was Tri when it was released in 2011-2012.
Yet World felt more difficult then all 3Ds game i played.
I just think that World was more geared towards souls genre but Capcom didnt have guts to go fully souls-like.
The reason why i never finished World is because all bosses are just sponges and they all feel the same and not fun to play at all.
In Wilds Tempered/Frenzied monsters get killed in 5 minutes.
There is definetly a big big big nerf to monsters' hp and aggressiveness, and the weak spots are way too strong rn. Stop gaslighting
Fights were long sometimes but mostly because you run all over the place when you fight monsters.
Actual fight never last more then 4-5 minutes sometimes up to 10 on 3ds, you just run around maps additional 10-15 minutes.
Its like 3-4 hits, then you chase monster and repeat.
Every fight on 3ds was like that.
"tempered monster in 5 mins" is just cap. Show me your 1st try against tempered Val Hazaak in 5 mins.
I also didn't play Rise so take this with a heavy grain o' salt, but I've heard from my friends who did play it that there were very unfair combos the monsters would do? (I'm failing to recall the specifics but it might have had something to do with the always-available grapple-dodges, or something?)
I'd attribute some of the Easier feel to the weapons' new movesets making them feel a LOT more like you have options for dodging in a fight, and some of it to *just* how much extra momentum the meter- or state-based weapons get off of the wound system. Curious if they'll scale back the latter portion in some way. (The wound system in general just feels satisfying to me.)
