ToS clearly states that modifying files in any manner is prohibited, yet that is what you're doing.
I'm pretty sure there will be an official patch for this, but I wouldn't risk it. People even got banned for screen-sharing some games over Discord, because of how Discord hooks into the game to record sound.
thanks for letting us know. appreciated
edit: You can also find the mod on nexusmods and the "creator" (or guy who uploaded it) already acknowledged the 30 minute crash. Just keep an eye on its nexusmods page for updates
That's good and if this has been a thing for previous games, then you might be fine.
But I have heard many times that people find these workarounds, modify files and then they are surprised that they got banned. EVEN IF, what they did wasn't cheating, but something minor like changing colours or whatever. It's dumb, I will admit, but when you get caught, it's hard to defend yourself, as most AC's just flag a modified file, it won't know what exactly the purpose of it was/is.
I remember when Nvidia's overlay got people in trouble too. You never know nowadays. I'm always cautious with these things.
I tried this fix and it doesn't work for 16:10 resolution.
- Download the zip file here https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases/download/nightly-01077-702e9733349645db378ebf5892487a0a9ac89a9b/MHWILDS.zip
-Extract the "reframework" folder and "Dinput8.dll" into the game folder (where the Monster Hunter .exe is located).
- Launch the game. You should see the REFramework menu.
- Press Insert to bring up the menu (default keybinding).
- Navigate to the Graphics tab and check the following boxes:
x - Ultrawide/FOV/aspect ratio fix
x - Ultrawide: Override FOV with 1.00 Ultrawide:
x - Force Resolution to window size
I don't know if it matters but I also have my scaling mode set to fullscreen under the Nvidia Control Panel Settings under Display>Adjust Desktop Size and Position and I have "perform scaling on" set to "GPU" and I checked the box that says, "override the scaling mode set by games and programs."
