''This cannot be forged or upgraded yet'' Bug?

So I'm having this weird issue with a few weapons, mostly in the IG tree where I'll have all the materials but it'll just be locked and say ''This cannot be forged or upgraded yet'', so I figured that it might be locked behind some progression but now I've gone so far past the tier of the weapon I want to make that it seems to just be bugged. One of the weapons in question is the Lala Barina IG, I just cant make it for some reason. And I fought the Lala so long ago it's confusing why I cant just make the weapon...

Not a bug, Bone I is required but the line is EXTREMELY hard to see in some environments. Keep in mind Bone II will not suffice - you need Bone I specifically.

Encountered this, deleted character of 5 hours, new one had the same issue, realize there's a REALLY, nearly invisible "tree branch" that extends from the "base tree" r1 to the others.

Did you try seeing if there's a line connecting to another weapon tree above it? if there is you might have to craft the weapons from the other tree just to unlock the one you want.

LOL I ran a low tier Hope switchaxe for so long because of that damned dotted line.

Make a weapon of Bone.
Theres a hidden VERY light, or rather, DARK, non-highlighted dotted line connecting the Bone tree with the Lala Varina tree

for some weapons there are 2 versions to build them.
from scratch or as upgrade.
they need different materials to craft.
you can see this weapons with the little hammer icon.

normaly it shows the upgrade materials.
so if you have all the materials but not the prefiious weapon you cant upgrade it.

to see the build (not upgrade) matarials you need to go to the next side (press l1)
there you have the weapons in a list with the build materials.
