What the heck is going on with Oilwell Basin
Performance had been good enough, I'd even say great, all things considered... until reaching Oilwell Basin. Now reality is breaking apart; time itself seems to be bending and twisting under a terrible strain. I went from 100-120 frames per second to, occasionally, a scale of seconds per frame. Sometimes, when I turn around, I can even see the ghosts of living beings closely following their mortal coils, and flickering glimpses of other dimensions eerily similar to this one. I haven't left the area hub yet; if this is all the safety that a certain degree of civilization can provide in this place, I am too terrified of facing whatever its wilderness has become.

So, yeah. Has anyone else had the game completely sh*t itself out of absolutely nowhere in Oilwell Basin?

Yes. Probably the most frustrating thing.
Well, I guess it's at that point where my GPU got hotter and I started to get graphical glitches. Have you checked your GPU temps? It might be that.

i'm running a 7950x3d and 4090 and once in a while when lava textures are loaded at all in oilwell basin, my cpu usage spikes from 20% to 80%-98% and my gpu drops down to around 5-10. Everywhere else in the game i get around 120fps even without frame generation

Share a video to clarify your issue, alongside your DxDiag report.

oilwell basin runs pretty poor for me too, and its the only area in the game ive crashed since the update and making some tweaks. ive also noticed the highest amount of player disconnects is always the basin.
