and you can't really say they're doing "little as possible" if you're an actual fan of the series. you should be able to notice little details, like monster behavior, the complex endemic life, environmental effects of monster attacks and idle roaming, and the fact that SEIKRET PUPILS DILATE AT NIGHT. there are so many little details that make this game a passion project, but you're too focused on the story (which hasn't really ever been monster hunter's strong suit anyway) to realize what's good about the game
You can say what you want about emphasis and whatnot, but the slowness being as forced as it is really bothers me. I feel like my time is being wasted. Like yeah, cool, the areas and the ecology is neat. I would rather gather that from side quests that have me capture endemic life or take photos of specific landmarks. If players aren't going to play those side quests, then they likely won't pay much attention to the forced bits. Just please, stop interrupting the flow of things and pace appropriately for the content as a whole. I don't need to be shown the pretty butterfly 10x like I'm five.
People didn't like the first quest in Wildspire Waste in World for a reason.
But this ♥♥♥♥ is just obnoxious.
Maybe I just want to stay around a bit longer and collect some mats but NOOOOO.
We got to go back and meet the next NPC NOW.
Imagine going to a restaurant for a 5 course luxury menu. But before you get that, you have to eat a spoon of ♥♥♥♥.
Yeah
