Huge graphics improvements using Lossless Scaling

I rock a 3080 graphics card and it was rough... Screen was really blurry from the dlss and my FPS would dip down below 60 even with scaled back settings. I would stop playing the game and have blurry vision for a while after and had given up on playing the game anymore until they could optimize it.

There was a program on steam that was recommended called Lossless Scaling and I gave it a try. The improvement was pretty extreme and the settings I used are below.

Lossless Scaling Settings:
Scaling Type: LS1
Sharpness: 4
Frame Generation: LSFG 3.0
Mode: x2
Resolution Scale: 100
Capture API: DXGI


Game Settings:
Upscaling: Disable (This is what causes the slightly out of focus graphics)
Anti-Aliasing: TAA
max FPS cap to whatever you can consistently maintain for me its 40.
Screen Mode: Windowed Mode (Needed to use this program)
Screen Resolution: Start with your native resolution. If this still doesn't give you good results you can try the next lower one but this does impact quality


With the game focused, press CTRL + Alt + S to have Lossless Scaling upscale the game.

I changed almost all my settings to the max and can maintain a constant 80 FPS. The video is crisp and my eyes no longer hurt playing the game.

Obviously they need to optimize the game, but for those that want to play it now and are willing to invest a little money on a potential fix then you can start here.

Also, its my understanding that you need to be able to maintain at least 30FPS for this tool to be effective so if you are running at extremely LOW FPS then keep that in mind.

hey, I've tried out lossless scaling but, my fps goes down to 4 fps from 50 fps. I saw some other people have this problem too but not sure how to fix it. I'm using fsr frame gen for now until I could figure out how to use lossless.
Without any frame gen help, I get 40-50 fps which is not bad for 4 year old laptop. But the main reason why I bought lossless was for wilds cause in beta, fsr was really bad for me.

no frame gen
dlss set to quality
other setting mid to high

Be sure you have the game set to windowed mode and you can downscale to a lower resolution and then let Lossless Scaling do the upscale. For me I didn't actually have to go lower but it would be a pretty big performance gain. You will have to play with the settings, I just wanted to provide my settings to give people a good starting point. I have heard 30 FPS cap and 3x frame gen work for some but I didn't really like the way it felt but worth a shot.

I really wouldnt suggest using any form of lossless scaling on this game due to it not hitting a consistent anything, and lossless scaling works really poorly and weirdly if you aren't locked to something consistent. Furthermore any form of frame generation is going to be really bad if you aren't hitting at least natively 60fps due to it having such low information to work with, and the input lag is gonna be bad.

I just set the FPS Cap to 40 on mine and it works like a charm. I would never dip below 40 during normal game play so there are no dips in performance setting it at that level. This program does x2 frame gen so it runs at 80 FPS and I see almost no ghosting. Again, this might not work for everybody but just telling people what worked for me.

Thank you for that suggestion but, I already tired that out.... And I troubleshoot what is the problem and whenever I turn on frame gen on lossless, the fps shutters. While other setting seem not affecting the fps that much, maybe a few fps bump but not noticeable amount. the game is set to borderless like suggested. I know it is hard to know the fix to this specific problem cause it seems not everyone have this problem but a really small amount.
I saw a post about discord overlay is causing a problem but even when discord is closed, it was causing problem.
Not sure this info help solve this issue but, whenever, wilds is unfocused, meaning other app is in front, the fps goes up to 60 fps while using lossless. But whenever I click on wilds, the fps goes down to 10 fpsish.

I have done that same but with amds framegen for now until a mod comes out with nvidia framegen or until i can get my hand on a 4 or 5k series card, sold out everywhere

With my 3080ti I'm getting between 60-90 FPS @ 3440x1440 for my ultrawide screen monitor. I can go higher but frame-rate isn't as stable with settings jacked all the way up. I'm using AMD FSR 3 with Frame Generation Enabled along with AMD Native AA. Got everything jacked up to high and textures to highest (with texture pack). I capped myself to 60fps but the game performs buttery smooth and looks amazing now. DLSS sucks balls and for whatever reason AMD FSR 3 is the GOAT.

It doesn't stay windowed mode, Lossless Scaling makes it go full screen but it needs to be windowed mode to start.

untill the game run perfectly ill never bought this monster hunter, is a shame that with a 4080super we struggle to get 100fps without loseless scaling that fortunately add more spicy in the game experience.
