Should I invest in armor before reaching HR.
I see that game gives the "hope" armor set which is not even close, yet kind of strong for the start of the game like the guardian armor in world. I learned that when reaching HR, I can finally craft gear and have them able to put on as transmog layered armors, is that accurate? And thus, is it just the necessary and very useful armor sets are the ones that I should be crafting till reaching that point?

The Guardian armor set in World was added with the expansion as a catchup thing for new players, the Hope set in Wilds is nothing like it, and nowhere near as strong.
The first monsters you fight get you better armor.

So yes, do invest in armor.
Guardian Armor wasnt available at the start. It was added years later with Iceborn.

And nope, especially at the start you change your gear faster then you get some.
no, your starter armor is OP af due to divine blessing

Unlike World there are actually useful armor sets in low rank depending on what weapon you prefer. You don't have to craft any of them but it's definitely more rewarding than in World.

Yeah imo you shouldnt waste time crafting gear until you get to endgame. Just make whatever armor pieces you can along the way and blitz through the story.

%87 of what you wrote was the same thing as I mentioned. But thanks anyways.

That's something which makes me feel relieved. Thanks.

Yeah the divine blessing level 3 (or 2 I do not remember right) is a bit too op for the start I guess.. I wish there was a better and smoother transition from the introduction to the early game and then to the higher levels.

Your starter is surprisingly good with lvl 3 divine blessing.
Just remember to upgrade them once armor upgrade system come online.

So unless you really want other skill (like evade extender for me lol).
The basic Hope set are actually decent in High rank too.

even at max Blessing its a 50% dmg reduction...you get more reduction by just upgrading to new armor set as your def scales greater than the dmg reduced of your starting armor.
