Help smithy is not letting me make or upgrade armor

For some reason, the only function I can use at the smithy is the craft/upgrade weapons, other functions are unusable (grayed out). When I use the craft/upgrade weapon function, a tutorial about upgrading and forge tree keep pop up, I tried to craft/upgrade a new weapon but after that the smithy still restrict me to only the craft/upgrade weapon function and the tutorial still pop up. I have turned off repeating tutorial but it still happen. Anyone else run into this problem? If so then how did you fix it?

The most obvious answer is usually the correct one.

You should know monster hunter now caters to the nu gamer. the gamer who needs to be walked slowly through every system of the game rather than the gamer learning for themselves by experiment.

The reason I loved armor with positive and negative traits. Such a fun way to do things to try and get such cool mixed sets. Now its dead, just like being able to rush to the end. Tutotrials kill pace.

I am having this problem in post game, not sure what started it but I can't exit the menu and I am incapable of doing anything but crafting weapons.

Not sure if you are in a similar boat (IE you could craft armor and now you cannot), I've seen reports of this everywhere and as of now there is no fix.

The problem started just before the spider quest and is still happening. I've just finished the doshaguma quest and the problem is still there

I think we're having the same problem. Oh well, hope a hotfix come soon cause I really want to try on some new armors. As for being freeze in the smithy, you can just walk away, after a bit of distant, the UI should be gone and things go back to normal (except the problem)

Found a side step for this bug sorta, just talk to Gemma and ask about recommended armor, can choose what she offers. It's not the best, but its something for the time being as she will offer what is the best you can make at the time. Thats how I've been going about it since I can't make armor due to this bug normally. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue and have been since Gemma first recommended upgrading weapons, I upgraded my weapon, but I'd already done that prior tot he tutorial. I now cannot Exit out of the menu without walking away, I've tried crafting a base and upgrade for each weapon.

I've tried restarting the game, reinstalling the game, going to someone else's world. Still doesn't work. The dumb thing is that it worked prior to me zoning out after that flag.

I tried advancing the story farther, I'm now 8+ hours in and still unable to make anything past the first spider monster's set without using the "recommended" option, which is ass.

Weapon upgrades are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, I constantly get the tutorial pop-up.

It's annoying I just want to enjoy the game, but I can't and its frustrating.
