Monster Hunter Wilds

Game Development in 2025 is in BIG trouble.
Why Do Developers Keep Releasing Unfinished Games at Full Price?

Monster Hunter Wilds just launched, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most disappointing releases of the year. The game currently sits at 45% on SteamDB, and the complaints are piling up. Players are reporting severe performance issues, with FPS drops from 50-60 in open areas down to 10-20 FPS in camps, regardless of settings or hardware. There are also problems with LOD (Level of Detail), making monsters and NPCs look like low-poly models even at close range.

This isn’t just a Monster Hunter Wilds issue—this trend has become far too common. Big publishers keep pushing out unfinished, un-optimized games while charging a premium $70 price tag. Instead of proper QA testing, it feels like gamers are being used as unpaid beta testers, flooding forums with complaints that help devs fix what should have been caught in development.

Why does this keep happening? Is it corporate greed, unrealistic deadlines, or just a lack of respect for the player base? At what point do we, as consumers, stop accepting this cycle of “release now, fix later”?

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by.

Everything is upscaling the way it's being used is crap and letting devs get away with lazy optimisation. Also frame gen RTX and all these gimmicks they are putting in games now are the problem shaders loading textures look worse then games from 2015. GPU prices have skyrocketed. Honestly PC gaming is a mess shouldn't be paying a grand to downscale back to 1080p.
Devs need to go back to making games in native resolutions and not hoping fsr and dls will carry them.
Not disagreeing the game runs poorly, but its not on UE5 its on the RE Engine same as Rise

It's a talent thing. Or what game companies are willing to pay software engineers.

Why do the cattle keep buying them?
Relying on high CPU usage is not all that bad for gamers, unless GPU makers are making even more money by encouraging people to spend crazy money for already inflated products.

What other need to stop is to make games more easy, an easy game annoy me to death.. i can remember well doing all the Diablo 3 campaign at normal (it was forced in early days). It was a torture.

This is why I never buy a AAA game on launch. Feels like gamers are test-pilots at this point.

I don't understand why people give the game itself a downvote only because their toasters can't handle it.
It's respectless to the developers.

It's nothing new and not since 2025 that AAA games are released unfinished because of cost minimization and early sale maximization.
If people are supporting it nothing will change.
Giving bad reviews won't help.
Not having the technical requirements won't help to enjoy the game.
You can be mad at me, insult me and be frustrated as much as you like. It won't help the game development.

I agree. But why are you complaining about that on MH Wilds forums? Game is well more worth the price and is optimized much much better than other big AAA games and releases.
