squads are just clans, if you want to free roam you environment link
I understand, we all understand, what the points of them are, but there's so many redundant and overlapping systems when it comes to partying up that it's asinine. They need to put away the fax machines and excel spreadsheets.
Environment Link is primarily for the open world, but yes, I do believe you can do quests in it without loading screens.
The main issue I have is why in my Squad Lobby of LESS THAN FIVE PEOPLE are we not automatically all in the same "environment"? The whole process is a cumbersome mess that only someone who hasn't played other modern co-op games could come up with.
add friend for future then the can just join and then you just link up EZ
Once again, they locked mechanics like that behind story progression because Japanese developers seem to be unwilling to look into better ways to co-op.
That doesn't get them into the environment link... You still have to put them in your link group, and then invite them into your environment link, every single time.
It's a hassle and something that could have been done far, far better.
People defending this crap are only doing it because they don't want to hear negative feedback about the game, even if that feedback leads to improvements down the line.
Dear lord, the devs are morons, this is a HUGE step back from World. I'm now stuck on a quest line in the forest that disallows me from going back to the desert to join a friend that just started playing.
Why do this? Why make things worse, Capcom? Do you not playtest your own stuff?
they didnt make things worse, it worked the same in world. yes its a bad system. it got massively improved. you can now stop crying as it wont change anything.
Why does capcom hate co-op so much? lol.
They hate co-op because they're a Japanese developer who looks down upon western game mechanics, probably. Either that or they've never played anything else other than Monster Hunter games, so they don't know there's a better way.
Ever since I left the desert to go to the forest it's been forcing me from one quest to another without giving me ANY chances to join friends. I'm now in the Oil Basin camp, at a point where I can see the quest board, and I can't travel to any other zones to join friends that are behind me in the story. We're all becoming so tired of it that people are just logging off entirely.
Congrats, Crapcom.
just in case you do not remember the last monster hunter game had at least a weak long + issues with the friendslist in steam wich made you go offline/online serveral times per minute and it take them a way to long time to fix that
coop or playing with friends was a massive problem and at release almost not possible.
Solid pass for me, hopfully next time!
MHR was a step forward from MHW, this is a step backwards from MHW.
I'm still stuck in a quest chain where I cannot go back and join friends, several missions later.
I have one friend that found trying to get into co-op in MHR annoying enough, already advised him to pass on this one.
Better yet, people are getting kicked from the LInk Lobbies when entering cutscenes. They are actively preventing people from playing the game co-op.
