People Seem to Forget that a Lot of Japanese games had this in the early 2000 already XD where men could have women voice lines, and could make Joke Characters, nothing woke about that. the Woke Crowd is just Desprate to gain a win that they seem to call everything a win now a days that just has a hint of wokeness to them. realy sad, now stop crying and have fun looser

Traps or male characters with feminine voice isn't exactly uncommon in Japanese media, especially Comics, Novels and Animes. You can tell people who calls Erik a trans probably doesn't have a single clue about Japanese media tropes.

It’s other way around, it’s “anti woke crowd” who whenever a game which has some “woke” elements (like body type based character creator, black characters, lgbt people etc.) fails, you start shouting everywhere how it failed because of “woke”, but when a good very successful games has the same “woke” elements (sometimes even in higher quantity) it suddenly becomes “actually not woke”. Baldur’s gate 3 is the best example of this.

And people are trolling and saying that “woke” won, because for many “anti-woke” activists a game having a body type based character creator (like MH has) is enough to declare it as woke, but because MH is extremely successful most of them stays silent.

The entire woke drama around Avowed was completely made up, with how it was started before anything was even known about the game, save for basic story premise. I’ve played it and it’s no more “woke” than any other rpg in last 15-16 years

The overwhelming majority of players do, that's why they don't want to get anywhere near a game that looks like concord, unknown 9, forespoken, hyenas, flintlock, south of midnight, fairgame$, Fable, etc etc etc...

All of these games were rejected before any gameplay was even shown, before their releases, others are still unreleased, at this point just looking at a character's face is enough to know if a game will be a flop or not.

ya Avowed's not really that woke i watched 3 people play most of it. It's a MID game.. and the coral on the heads is a bit odd.... but the problem most of us had with it wasn't the game but the ART DIRECTOR Matt Hansen and the BS he spewed... turned most people off from even supporting them. He killed their game b4 it even released.

You can turn off most of the "godlike" characteristics (corals).

Matt Hansen didn't do the game a favor that's true, but we should be able to separate the art from the artist, if people want to boycott the game based on his actions that's totally fine though.

I agree that the game is overall mediocre, it has some good moments, but also lots of boring stuff and too much streamlining.

For me it was a little timekiller (22 hours for almost 100%) on Gamepass and for 16€ (4 months) I can't complain on the value, since it also gives me access to Indiana Jones (meh), Atomfall, Clair Obscur, Doom The Dark Ages, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and some other stuff I missed.

This^^ Only reason I am never touching Avowed unless it goes on like maybe 90-95% discount at which point I know they make like nothing from the game itself and even than I will question myself if I should even do it.
