Monster Hunter Wilds
Lets ignore performance for a minute... only 26 large monsters? That's pathetic
Capcom getting stingier and stingier. Don't even get an excuse this time, because they have high quality models and skels from World/IB. At least throw a few more of those in. This feels like Tri, content-wise. Too lite for a MH game and it'll get stale faster than even base Rise did.

i find the number itself the problem but the lack of iconic monsters is the most dissapointing thing about the game right now no Diablos. Barioth, Tigrex, Kulu, Pukei, Barroth, Zinogre, Nargacuga, Deviljho ,kirin, Teostra,Kushala etc. and also no iconic small monster like Kelbi, Jargras, baggy and jaggi ,they all got replaced ,which is just sad and kinda makes it feel like a spin off .
Its drip feed content. Idk how people are defending this. We have 2 whole game cycles worth of roadmap to look at, the recent one being Rise. They dripfed the heck out of base Rise.

Where did you pull 26 from? It's 29, basically the same as World's 30.

Its 26, the others are just variants that don't really count.

Go look at MHGU, 3U/4U/MHFU, etc. Old school fans know that this is stingy. Its the least on launch for a mainstream title since Tri. When World launched, the low number was excused because it was the first high-fidelity graphics in a MH game. Now, theres no valid excuse. RE is based on MT engine, and just because its open world doesn't mean they shouldn't have ported in more monsters. Variety is the spice of life

Um.... Look at MHF, 3, 4 and MHG... they were ALL skinny when they made G-Rank was when it got bolstered...

Ok. MH4U has 43 monsters then.
The best thing about re-aligning your company's product development to pander exclusively to the casual market, is that you no longer have please those who have been around for a long time, and who expect something more or better than last time.
So, whatever they have included in this game should be considered as a bonus, and people should be groveling in gratitude that they included even that.

For all that matters are the analytics which tell them how little they can get away, and at how high a price point it can be sold for, in order to optimise profits. Moreover, done in a manner so as to leave as much space as possible for additional content to be hocked down the track. This is game production 101 in the 2020s, and anyone who has any knowledge of business practices, would be fully aware of this.

Well ok, but Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is not Monster Hunter 4, wich is the base game. MH4 without Variants has 33 if i remember it right.

Not really understanding. World launched with 30... so like 4 more? didnt rise launch with even less? MHW has 94 total including small currently. You dont have a life to pass the time until wilds catches up?

Just to add to it you cant just copy and paste models on a whole new engine. MHW runs on MT. Wilds runs on RE (honestly hate this choice) but it doesnt work the way you think it does.

............. there were 30 with world and 24 with rise at launch...26 is on par with the initial launch of the title. quit your complaining.
rise had 46 large monster at launch
There were 38. 46 would be including monsters added by title updates before the release of sunbreak

... you just listed a bunch of monsters from world... you realize mh has always had a rotating monster roster, and some monsters some people find "iconic" do not carry on to the next mainline game, right? That is how its always been

So about 60% more monsters. I'll take it

RE is based on MT, so not a whole new engine. Its literally just an upgraded MT with improved tooling and a marketing name. At this point 3d model and skeleton/animation formats are largely portable. This isn't the Quake 2 days, I was there

This is true. Very sad
idc im still killing the same monster 10 times for a piece of material to build armors and weapons.
Wild will follow the same pattern as World. We will get free updates with more monsters and probably legacy monsters until the expansion in few years.
