Can't seem to cook meals?

I am unable to cook meals on the portable BBQ or in my tent (the menu which should be available in the tent isn't there for me), and from all I've read online I should be able to at this point in the game. I've reached the Scarlett Forest and my friends were able to cook.

I feel like I'm missing something because I cannot see anyone else having this same issue from a quick search online and through here as well. I've talked to all the NPCs at the Plains base, running around multiple times and no dice. This may be a bug that needs addressing or I'm just dumb, missing the way to unlock it - either way it's frustrating...

did you talk to the palico at the main camp that gives you rations that you can then use to cook?

I can confirm you should be able to cook at this Point. Have you Spoke to the Provision Felyne in base Camp that gives you the Rations? i think that unlocked it for me

Yep, done all that and I can't even interact with them. After some scrolling I found other people encountering the same issue with no way to fix it. Just another bug which needs fixing!

Got the same bug, ive gone through all of the low rank without being able to use meals. No option on the bbq, nor in tent

I have the same issue currently. No option in the tent nor in the BBQ. Filing bug reports to Capcom should help I hope

I can USE the grill but cant make meals on it. It only has the option to grill meat, not cook meal like its suppose to

Just cook them on your gpu.

It's not just cooking for me, I can't even use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hunters notes and I'm 10 hours in at this point.

I'm having the same issue, with the hunter notes as well. Started a new character and both things work fine now. I did all the same stuff so I doubt it's anything we did wrong.

I read on Reddit it is a known bug and devs are working on it, but is Reddit....

Check if you still have access to the monter guide in game.

For me, it's like the cooking, the link to the mondter is not displayed anymore.

Same exact problem. I could cook earlier on, but my option has vanished for both grilling on the spit and in the tent.
