CooP is just Bullsh.t!!
I am curious if i am the only one or others also think the Online Coop is just plain bullsh.t.
I was in MHW now hoping i could play the entire Story with a friend of mine before figuring out even exploring the map is a pain to do.
Open a Lobby...accepting a contract....inviting a friend...linking the contract and even more other BS before you finally can leave the camp hunt down monsters and as soon you killed the contract monster the Coop is gone again until you set up a new Quest....Man this sucks so hard.

Yeah, it's like World. Needs to be fixed, but I'm sure they have a long list. Seems like they were worried more about the multiple DRMs and the DLC available day one.

No because this is how MH has always worked?
you make a squad with your friends,, join the squad lobby and when you start a monster quest your friends can join on the post board under squad quests..

Do you need them following during the story? some people like skipping the story and some dont.. So you just need to join up during the actual fights..
Yeah we like playing stuff together so even when its a normal feature in all the other MH Games...why not try something different and have a Full CooP experience to players who enjoy playing the whole story and map exploring together...Not just helping out in a Monster fight.

It is such a freakn HASSLE to play together in CoOp

You have to join the same lobby - join a hunting party - join the same environment setting - join the Q => You can go hunt the Q

If you have your "on rails" story mission you cannot do them because you are in Environment link. If the "on rails cutscene safari" is finished and you are asked to actually HUNT a monster, you have to anticlimactly RUN from the monster until it loses interest. Then the person holding the lobby has to invite everyone to THEIR version of the Q. Than the people wanting to join in on said Q have to go to the menu search for the invite (if they missed the pop up) klick on "accept and fast start" stuff. Get a weird error popup, have to wait for who-knows-how-long in said error popup which is not skipable and HOPE that they are not getting attacked (if they are they get an connection error message)
If everything went right, the identical Q they are on gets canceled and they "return to camp" to join the SAME QUEST.
It counts for their story progression when they hunt the monsters in a different "world"

So why tf all this mumbo jumbo and jumping to a dozend hoops??
"Oh you should play with other people" the tutorial spams at you multiple times. Well Capcom if it was not such a incredible CHORE to try to do that, I maybe would actually.

I know you're trolling but it hurts my soul seeing people defend this.
Shame. They had it pretty much perfected in Rise. There must be something fundamentally different with how things work as far as cut scenes or something. Who knows.

I completely agree, coop is nearly impossible to get working. My husband bought this so we could play together. Incredibly disappointed. This shouldn't be called coop, its very misleading
capcom has been behind in basic things like coop for years now, guess it'll never change for them

Thats exactly the struggle at this point. So many chores to do before you can actually go on a little hunt with a friend and when its done...rinse and repeat. And especially when you wanna do the story together...every single cutscene breaks the Coop again.

We used to drill holes in people's skulls when they had migraines. Should we ignore improvements and be forever stuck with mediocrity ?

I've never found it all that annoying. I have to wait 5 mins to join because my friend has to watch a cutscene? Okay, and? Sure, joining from the start would be a little more convenient, but Wilds literally sends lobby members an invite automatically once it's over. I feel like this is a tiktok brain issue, complaining about less that 5 mins of down time. It could be better, but acting like it's anything besides a minor inconvenience is hyperbolic a best.
