DLSS to FSR Mod Working

First of all don't forget to update your DLSS up to the last version (i use Dlss Swapper for it, https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper).

Proceed to:

Download Special K (https://www.special-k.info/ or check the discord for the latest version/updates)
Download the mod on nexus mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files&file_id=4765)

- Install Special K.
- Put nvngx.dll and dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll in C:\Program Files\Special K\PlugIns\ThirdParty\NVIDIA (or whatever folder you choose)
- Rename nvngx.dll to nvngx_dlss.dll.
- Load the game through Special K.
- Open the SpecialK menu overlay ingame with CTRL SHIFT BACKSPACE
- Under the Direct3d12 tab enable "Use Special K's DLSS instead of Game's DLL"
- Restart the game
- Now you should be able to use DLSS and Frame gen even without a 4k or 5k series.

EDIT:

If you never used this Frame Gen mod before, you probably should read the info on nexusmod or the Readme file when you download it.

Basically you have to:

- 1. Double click on "DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks.reg" and select "Run". Click "Yes" on the next few dialogs.
-2. Enable Hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows Graphic Settings

I'm not 100% sure if those 2 steps are required with Special K, i already did both on previous games without it. I added it just to be sure.

This is good to know because FSR upscaler is terrible, DLSS v4 is way better.

It still is FSR framegen but you can use DLSS instead of being forced to use FSR only. Why this isn't a thing already is strange, FSR 3.1 has been universal for ages but very few games take advantage of it.

FSR give you probably more fps but visually i feels it's worse than DLSS 4. Overall the game is such a mess that i cannot really say how much better it is. You should try it for yourself and decide what to use.

Did you put both files in the right folder and rename the nvngx.dll?
I had the same problem and i wrote the wrong name before.

Oh, also read the description/instruction for the DLSS to FSR mod, if you never used it before you maybe have to follow the instruction there. (the registry stuff and hardware option on window)

DLSS is completly broken in MH: Wilds
The files are from march 2024, its crashing the game randomy and it looks like 720p unironically without any upscaling back to the original resolution
