This is gonna make my rip my eyes out. Who the hell designed the fishing and why is it so atrociously broken?

How do you screw up the implementation so bad that it's impossible to complete?

I've been here for 40 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes because it just DOES NOT WORK.

Yeah, I plugged in a controller, everything worked fine in seconds.

On M/KB it seems to just not want to function. I used the controller for fish quests and if i need fish I just use capture net.

Yeah the Gravid Bowfin quest is broken. It just refuses to bite even when using the correct bait

It's really janky in this one. You have to have enough room on your left and right side when you cast your line if you don't it'll just auto reel it back.

repeteadly press w and s that reeling, the fishing guide only say press w and s but it need to be repeated to start reeling

? fishing is super easy its just annoying having to reload areas 20 times to get the fish / endemic life you need

i feel that i sat there for an hour using the Right lure for a rare fish that spawns during dusk and dawn and it ignored it for 30 mins. Now im catching whoppers and had 2 of them escape cause i didnt read the fine print of the new fishing system

Honestly I just gave up, the system barely works, fish ignore the correct lures for so long only to disappear when the time changes. Used 1200 guild points before I just gave up. I'll wait for this to be patched cause I swear to go I've wasted 8 hours just trying to catch 1 fish for a greatsword. By now I could be like HR 30+.

fishing is pretty easy once you understand it, work with the fish not against them ;)

Unless someone else has already mentioned it, just use the net to "fish." You can catch multiple fish and get all the benefits of fishing....minus catching the special ones. Those are too far out for the net.

I cast the line. My hunter instantly pulls it back.
I cast the line. My hunter instantly pulls it back.

I cast the line closer to me, further from the fish. It goes in. I flick the stick up and then down. My hunter instantly pulls it back. The fish never even looked at it.
Repeat the last step about 10 more times in different positions.
I give up and go to do literally anything else.
