High resolution textures stuttering?
Anyone experiencing stutters when moving the camera with the 4K texture pack? I have a RTX 4070TI Super + R7 9800X3D my VRAM utilisation is around 13GB with FG on and playing at 1440p.

The Highest Resolution texture setting (and DLC) was definitely the source of stuttering hell for me as well. 4070 Ti Super (16GB) with 5700X3D, Cutscenes, when aiming with L2, and fast panning, fps would drop from 70-90 to 20-30 and only use 40% GPU instead of normally 90-99%. It wasn't out of VRAM either, overlay via Afterburner showed it to be at about 12GB alllocated memory. But I changed to High Res Textures instead, and stuttering is much improved. Textures look noticably worse though, but worth it (for now).

Oh so that's why I have been stuttering in the lobby.
I hope they fix it soon.
turn off DLSS

it is broken in this game.
I used DLSS Swapper to change DLSS to the newest version 4.x (it's called v310.2.1) and FG to the newest 3.x version - 3.8.1 to be precise (I had black screen problems on the newest one).
Now the game looks a little bit better. I'm on RTX 4090.
Hi, same problème here, I checked with GPU-Z and with high res pack it uses more than my 16GB of VRAM and my frame gen is always broken. I swith to high preset and problem solved. It use 13GB in this case, there is a problem with memory usage and High texture pack...
First of all, I'm posting my specs upfront to avoid any "your PC is ancient/crap, buy a modern system" comments.

GPU: RTX 4080 Super (16GB VRAM)
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
RAM: 32GB 3600MHz DDR4

The game runs fine on the standard high texture setting. However, switching to the downloadable highest texture setting causes severe stuttering, with a 30-40% drop in performance. I have no idea how they managed to mess it up this badly.

And before anyone asks - yes, I'm running the latest drivers. In fact, I did a clean DDU driver install before launch.

Totally agree, although my performance drop is not that high around 10%-25% but the stuttering is horrible, I would understand the stuttering if my GPUs VRAM was low but it's not case.
Guys found the solution, there is a typo in config file : Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterWilds\config.ini
Correct the line MinimumStreamingTextureResolution=MinimumStreamingTextureResolution_256

You basically made sure you run out of vram bandwidth, especially when using framegen. Could be just that your drive can't handle it.

Update directstorage to 1.2.3 and force rebar with nvidia inspector for the game.

DLC high texture resolution need MORE than 16 giga VRAM !!!!!! ERGO WITH 5080 YOU CAN CLEAN YOUR BACK.
It's the game's fault not your fault Digital Foundry fond something is wrong with Texture streaming.

high texture isnt for your 4070. its for 4090 and 5090 maybe 5080 . rest of you dont even try . visual difference isnt even that big from high

It is a typo, but that's how it was named in the code.

The game will overwrite it back to
MinimumStreamingTextureResolution=MinimumStreamingTextureResoltuion_256

If you change it to Resolution it won't work anyway.

it doesnt even use 16GB of vram it caps me at 12 gamer lmao you room temp IQ
im on a 4080 and still get stutter with the pack on DS 1.2.3 the game is just badly optimizted

Not even an 4080 (with an 7800x3D) can hadle those texture lol
