Monster Hunter Wilds

cannot enable multiplayer mode: "Unable to connect to server. R1152-TAD-W79J:10001"
every time I try to turn on multiplayer mode it tells me I need to make this privacy setting change in the settings, however when I try to toggle it on, the game restarts (replaying the intro) and I get this error message: "Unable to connect to server. R1152-TAD-W79J:10001"

edit (april 10 2025) : i've tried most of the things recommended in this thread and others:
deleting the hosts file, resetting windows firewall settings back to default, disabling pihole, changing other settings etc... what fixed it for me: reinstalling windows on my PC. wtf... this is the ONLY videogame I've ever had in 30+ years of PC gaming where reinstalling windows was the solution, so ♥♥♥♥ you capcom

Edit 5 (April 21 2025): I think i found my solution, I have a windows firewall outbound rule called 'Adobe Unlicensed Pop-up Blocker' that lists a bunch of IP explicit Amazon AWS ip addresses. I disabled that rule and it seems to be working now. IP addresses are listed here: https://pastebin.com/5bAJdR9f

Using Wireshark I was able to determine that there is a list of IP addresses monster hunter wilds uses (which this firewall rule also caused the conflict). The solution is to whitelist these IP addresses in windows firewall (or prevent them from being blocked in the first place and disable/delete the adobe rule):

18.172.185.10

18.172.185.21

18.172.185.65

18.64.67.100

18.64.67.116

18.64.67.39

18.64.67.78

there is probably other IP addresses that are shared but in my limited tested this is what I found

Do you use antivirus? If yes, try to add game folder to exceptions
found the solution-- I have a dns ad blocker called PiHole installed on my network, I disabled it for 5 minutes and was able to connect to the MH Wilds servers and it showed me a message to accept the privacy policy in my region. Then I loaded up my save game and it worked.

Afterwards I re-enabled PiHole and restarted the game and it still was able to connect to MH Wilds servers.

I am also having this problem. However, I do not have a dns ad blocker. I have tried all solutions from the beta. I cannot seem to fix it and I did not have this problem when playing the beta.

I don't know what to do.
I have getting as well EA_19e14

Just an update. I got it to work. I tried a whole bunch of different network settings. Changing my connection, trying a direct wire, using a specific DNS. Nothing worked. Finally I tried using a VPN(proton) and it worked. I am in Florida if that helps anyone.

If you ever used a bypass to play the MHW beta offline, you have to go to - C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, edit the hosts file, and delete:
127.0.0.1 hjm.rebe.capcom.com
127.0.0.1 40912.playfabapi.com
127.0.0.1 obt-api.wilds.monsterhunter.com

ive been getting this issue in street fighter 6 also for around 5 months now, it seems to only be capcom games for me and ive only found temporary fixes but nothing has worked long term, its so annoying. I havent really seen much talk about this error so ive been struggling to figure it out too.

Man thank you, I got disconnected today and afterwards it wouldn't let me in, I tried everything but wouldn't think to try a VPN, it worked like a charm!
