How/Where do you eat?

I remember in the beta, you ate in your tent. I don't see that option anywhere, nor do I see a place to sit and eat (where the cats cook your food).

I've only just started and am trying to do an optional quest to fight that green guy again. Do I have to advance the story a bit first? Or am I just overlooking it and not seeing the options.

That option isn't there. I'm going to do one more quest and see if that does anything.

I can't buy provisions/items yet because the guy said it's too soon because we just got there. So maybe I have to go a bit farther first.

There is a quest where you save cats from the fire chicken, that unlocks eating

You need to hunt the second monster of the story, that is when it is unlocked.

I never found the actual tent when I needed it

The tent I was referring to is the one back at the base. Your personal tent. You can eat there before you head out.

It's good to know you can eat anywhere out in the field, too. I case you forgot to eat at the base. Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, yeah. There's no chef cats that cook food for you at a counter. It's been swapped to a cat giving you ingredients/rations to cook food for yourself in the tent, or anywhere out on the field.

That last part is kind of cool. You can be fighting a monster, and when he runs to another area, you can cook a meal right there in the field. You don't have to use a tent. It does kind of suck to not have chefs cook for you at a counter back at the base, though. I liked those cutscenes.

why eating in tent :/ it was much more fun to have a hub restaurant and see people fooling around, always when i went afk i go sleep on the table near the quest counter lol looked like i passed out.
in world you could also do cheers with beer and other gestures on the table where you eat before quest... funny when other players still had to eat before quest start

they took out one of the little things that made world so good, i cant think of a reason why they would do that.

Yeah it's only "Grill a Meal" at Base Camp or any of the pop-ups you've set, or BBQ when outfield (steak).
