The main story quest...
I thought Worldborne had the worst in terms of story telling(granted MH wasnt really known for its stories) but Wilds takes the cake. And how you do the main quest in this game is so weird, they removed the quest board and instead the story is presented to you like any other triple A slop nowadays. Also istg this game has more cutscene yap than world did, I want to hunt monsters not doing main story quests where the hand holding is exetreme, you cannot even control your sekiret it auto moves for you. Don't get me wrong I still love the fights but its such a slog to get there. Oh well, least Alma is actually fun...

Forgot to add that in the 3 hours of playing I've only fought 4, FOUR MAIN QUEST MONSTERS
HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN

Yeah it's by far more restrictive than world. You'd think removing the hub would be a good idea, and it would be, IF YOU WEREN'T ON FORCED RAILS THE ENTIRE TIME. There's no downtime for you to manage anything.

Want to change weapons ? Sorry you can't, some scenario is happening and suddenly the hut doesn't work.
Want to explore ? Sorry you can't, time for a railshooter section where you have no control of your Seikret and the only thing you can do is snipe resources
Want to get that one honey hive ? Some PNJ gets pissed because you walked two steps in the wrong direction and prevents you from getting pots.
Found a cool mining spot ? Sorry bud a cinematic just started and when it ends you're 3 kilometers away from where you started.

The entire first section of the game has you in handcuffs the whole time, it's weird that they'd make it worse than Worlds when it was pretty clear people were already dissatisfied with story missions. Now the whole game is the story mission, no hunts in between. Even if you somehow manage to find a window of free time every single hunt available is the ones you already did in the main quest

The forced rails are literally the worst, I've always treated LR as a resource grind(plants, honeys, ores) but I cant even do that. They somehow went backwards.
