Discussion About Woke Elements In Game

Hello everyone
I congratulate all gamers on the great success of the game. After seeing various trailers and finally playing it on the console (optimization on PC is awful), I came to the conclusion that this game is not Woke at all; Maybe there are traces of such thinking, but in the end, this game cannot be recognized as a woke product. I think this is the reason for the success of the game and everyone's enjoyment.
What about you? do you think new Monster Hunter is woke?

If monster hunter world is your ONLY monster hunter game than that is your first problem right there. Because having people of color has been a thing before in monster hunter, was it as prevalent as this one ? no, because it was base don the region they were in. The Singer from I think it was MH2 the songstress hails from Dundorma and she is a Wyverian was black, depending on the region or location they are from just like in real world would define most of their triats that is just common sense.

The fact we have a whole region with darker skinned people here does not make it DEI if that is another one of your grieves, DEI means they got added and are pushing a narrative for NO reason other then just bam we must put this person in because.. well representation. They made that region work in their own respective ways, starting area has sand and desert bam you get people more akin to that region, you get people living in the mountain like the wyverians here ? they match the damn region, they did not just get put there and start preaching to you left and right.

This right here is your problem then, that is on you, the game is Japanese not Western made, just because you refuse to learn something that would basically give you a better understanding is you just finding an excuse to not get your viewpoint shattered and a NEED to call something that which is not. Watch any freaking Japanese or Asian drama for that matter and see how those dudes are propped up, just a brief look at KPOP ( don't even NEED to listen just only see the pictures or video's for 5 freaking seconds ) would prove the point I made about Erik.

Also with female voice, that does not matter either because news flash guess how many freaking Japanese Anime male characters are voiced by women, Goku, Ash Ketchum, Monkey D Luffy, Uzumaki Naruto, Himura Kenshin, Shin Chan and the list goes on, that is on the Asian side.

Now to blow your mind on the English side in terms of characters voiced by women,
Bart Simpson, Timmy Turner, Riley AND Huey freeman from The Boondocks, ASH KETCHUM, Alios Trancy ( black butler ), Ben Tennyson ( Ben 10 ) the list goes on.

Women voicing men and vice versa in both sides is NOTHING new and has been a thing before this DEI trash nonsense came around. I dislike DEI/Woke crap but this one ain't it chief. Something can be a naturally diverse without it being woke/dei, Failguard is a perfect freaking example of what DEI is same with Unknown 9 or Flintlock.

I am ok with the black skinned INDIGENOUS people in the game. It fits the territory the story takes place and is appropriate. No problem with that.

My problem among others is that almost every NPC of the crew of the ship the hunters came with are black females. I rarely even see a dude in the camp.

As for Erik, I am strongly against this kind of character and I would rather play Russian roulette with live ammo than listen or look at Kpop. Kpop is one amon many things that are wrong with modern society.

If Koreans and Japanese like to see androgynous young men with DBZ haircuts and red hair, i don't. At all.

For those reasons I won't be playing this game unless there are mods that will allow me to change those characters.




As for the optimization side of the game: not a single problem here it works like a charm.

We do NOT know where these hunters hail from, That is like saying MH3P which came out WAY before this DEI/WOKE nonsense was woke because there are mostly if not only asian's around and barely anything white, despite the fact that one takes place in a place similar to Asian samurai/ninja style. This is an unknown land, no one knows what zone or region these hunters have come or hailed from. So that does not matter. You just looking for reasons with this one. But you do you.

The game is not woke and all your reasoning's given make no damn sense lore wise this game has been diverse from the freaking get go with the only limitations being set on the engines back in the day, but story wise and lore wise NOTHING has changed. Every region every place everything has their own damn culture and lore has been kept intact. And in terms of Erik, no where in game did it say he is a ladyboy or some lgbt whatever, nowhere has it been advertised as such, no where was it shoved in your face and preached like Traash in Failguard.
You are just being just as bad as the freaking idiots going around wanting to claim he is lgbt something just so they can in some way shape or form claim they got a "woke" game to succeed because of one freaking character, again same bs coin just the opposite side of it.

The game is woke, you have alma preaching about how wonderful are all of these cultures, the hunter now has a voice instead of being silent, telling the hunter how to feel, you have to ask for hunts, the story is trying to show multiculturalism as wonderful, but these tribes don't even know what a weapon is.

This game is a red herring.

The villages have all mono culture and they got along pretty well. they trade etc.
Looks diverse, but not woke. Storywise it makes sense. They make reference that the Monster Hunters are from the west and helping the villagers in the east.

The only woke i encountered was that black guy Hunter who just "hi" in a cutscene.
Why do i consider it woke? Because he appeared out of nowhere just to photobomb a cutscene and dont contribute anything to the story or gameplay. He was just there. No idea why....maybe later....idont know.

You can't pick and choose to try and explain away a woke game being one of the most successful games of all time.

Strong female leads in positions of power.
Androgynous men with feminine characteristics in positions secondary to the female leads.
Men of color placed ahead of white men in important positions within the game.
Uglified female NPCs.
Main NPC of the opening story has you talking out each other's feelings in any and all of his dialogue, and cries consistently. These dialogues are pointed to in almost every starting main quest.

Pretty much. If you pay attention there's some things implemented that very obviously fall right in line with DEI-practices. I suspect the DEI stuff has various tiers and Capcom decided to include just enough elements to not get blacklisted.

The real problem with this game is that its underwhelming and has less interesting monsters than previous entries. Wylk is also really really dumb.

Now that normalCHADS are earning more money by wageslaving 45 hours a week for Dr. Goldstein's third mansion, its only natural for eastern companies to pander to normalCHADS instead. Game not running well on recommended specs and crashing frequently is not a problem, its literally normal for games to not function as intended when they launch. The billion dollar company can only start fixing when they get 70 of your hard earned dollars.
