Discussion About Woke Elements In Game
Hello everyone
I congratulate all gamers on the great success of the game. After seeing various trailers and finally playing it on the console (optimization on PC is awful), I came to the conclusion that this game is not Woke at all; Maybe there are traces of such thinking, but in the end, this game cannot be recognized as a woke product. I think this is the reason for the success of the game and everyone's enjoyment.
What about you? do you think new Monster Hunter is woke?

The game is not as woke as some games that have came out recently but it's pretty woke.

The androgynous trans character Erik, strong females everywhere, white dudes relegated to secondary roles, dei whining kid at the center of the storyline...etc

Definitely woke. Imma put the game to the side until mods come out and I can replace all those characters with modded characters that are not dei garbage.
If those mods don't come out, well, there are plenty of other games to play.

As someone who has played almost all monster hunters since release and even went out of their way to buy whatever console they usually would be coming out on I can tell you right now having women in leadership roles is and was nothing new.
However here we are in a new frontier meaning a whole new region so they can create do many things different if they want. Does not make it woke, sure wokes want that win so they are seeking it but no does not make it woke.

Erik while he does look to have some feminine features is fully male, one hundred % male, not a trans or any of that nonsense. While technically new by monster hunter standards the way most of these characters look in the new monster hunter is pretty solid I would say that is just engine allowing better details. But this is a Japanese game and Erik fits the typical pretty boy who is young and soft trope you see in many Japanese stuff.

Strong females have ALWAYS been part of the Monster Hunter Universe, they are freaking hunters, one of the more famous ones is from MH4, MHGen, who also is present in monster hunter animated show, The Ace Gunner Nadia. Olivia is the first NPC female hunter in mainstream game to actually use a heavy weapon, The Hammer in this specific case, All other female hunters have been using either lighter weapons ( Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Bows, Bowguns, Insect Glaive, Lances )

Let me clarify and say I was someone who was super hyped about DAFailguard when it was announced back as dreadwolf, I stayed away from that game because it looked bad and do not like or enjoy preachy woke bs in my hobbies or games.

This game is fine, it is not woke. Just having different skin colors or some women in leadership positions does not make something all of a sudden woke, this is nothing new to monster hunter games.

If there are traces of such thing then it's woke.

You can't pick and choose to try and explain away a woke game being one of the most successful games of all time.

Strong female leads in positions of power.
Androgynous men with feminine characteristics in positions secondary to the female leads.
Men of color placed ahead of white men in important positions within the game.
Uglified female NPCs.
Main NPC of the opening story has you talking out each other's feelings in any and all of his dialogue, and cries consistently. These dialogues are pointed to in almost every starting main quest.

The villages have all mono culture and they got along pretty well. they trade etc.
Looks diverse, but not woke. Storywise it makes sense. They make reference that the Monster Hunters are from the west and helping the villagers in the east.
Strong women may be a little woke, but there are all hot; so not woke.

The only woke i encountered was that black guy Hunter who just "hi" in a cutscene.
Why do i consider it woke? Because he appeared out of nowhere just to photobomb a cutscene and dont contribute anything to the story or gameplay. He was just there. No idea why....maybe later....idont know.

you know
Developers are forced (we don't care by whom) to follow inclusion policies in their new works; Now, some of these developers, because they are immersed in and support this policy, their games are full of woke slogans and content, and some companies such as Capcom follow these policies very weakly and partially use them in their works; So this makes us unable to say woke to these games from these type of companies

I am sorry that you think this way. But some people are not so fragile to bother with things like this. Because they don't matter

This is what happens when you drop out of school in grade 6 and decide to get your education from twitter. Stay in school, kids, don't be like the people in this thread.

Oh it's definitely all a joke, but these are things considered woke - at least by the anti-DEI gaming community. Therefor the game is woke. I could care less, it's fun.

Tl;dr
Game is massively successful so we can't call it woke.
WE WIN AGAIN BOIS.
Uth Dulna is very chubby and moist all the time idk if thats woke or not. I'm just pointing that out to make you uncomfortable thinking about it.

Broke wokies are running interference calling it WOKE to bait engagement since they can't actually afford the game.
these kinds of threads are always great to filter out brainless mouthbreathers and increase my blocklist count

That's a lot of mental gymnastics. The entire anti-woke movement hinges on hearsay and singling out individuals in a dev team to ascribe ideology to the entire studio. Or small portions of an entire game as an excuse to boycott the entire game.

If a small thing in a dev studio makes the entire studio woke, then a small thing in a game makes the entire game woke.

Not that I'd expect something as silly as the anti-DEI movement to adhere to any kind of congruent logic like that.

Also, people definitely care about the who. It's literally the entire premise of how the anti-DEI movement generates outrage, singling out the individual to attack the group.
