steam recording is bugged with this game
it just shows a million copies of my cursor on a black screen lmao

Same here, anyone found a solution? I just got a black screen and my mouse pointer.

Bump for future fix. I got it to work for the Beta but nothing is happening. Definitely has something to do with not having a full screen option.

Same here. All my beta recordings are fine but the full release is just black screen with the correct audio and a messed up cursor.

oh, both betas had the same problem for me. i heard that disabling frame generation and / or upscaling works, but other recording software should also work. i think it's just a steam thing that will hopefully be patched soon

Are you using an Nvidia GPU?
On release day I was on the 566.36 driver and OBS worked fine. Then I switched to the latest 572.80 driver for the MHWilds "support" in the new driver, but OBS was no longer able to capture MHWilds, I only got a black screen and instead of game footage. After reverting back to the 566.36 driver and it is working again.

Yeah I’m on a 4070ti super. OBS works fine but steam recording doesn’t work. I’ve been using OBS in the meantime but I much prefer steam recording. Oh well, hopefully it’s fixed soon.
