Unable to use Blacksmith to Forge Armor - Bug?

Hi all,

Not sure if anyone else encountered this problem, but for some reason, I can only access the upgrade/forge weapon screen, and cannot forge any armor. The sub-menu states "cannot be used right now".

As such, I can only craft new armor through the "Recommended gear" screen.

Thing to note: Every time I navigate to the upgrade/forge weapon screen, the same tutorial of teaching me how to upgrade weapon comes up, but I cannot actually upgrade any weapon, only forge new ones.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

This, IDK if I keep playing it overwrites or fixes itself or just wait for teh hot fixes... or I'm stuck forever... Idk, pondering to create a new character.

im already pretty far in the game (no spoil but i unlocked gems) and it is still the same

at first i just brushed the issue off but then i found out i won't go away...

it happened to me at about the same time there is maybe something here

I created a new save, if theres no fix i will come back if it happens again (wont upgrade this time)

Same problem 6 hours in and can no longer craft armor or do anything else only make weapons

just killed the "dancing spider" and gemma made me upgrade my weapons without giving me a choice for second time (1st time before going into the forest) and after creating other DB weapon (since i couldnt upgrade my db again) i can craft armor again, will see if this continues down the line where i was in the other save

Ok ty for the infos ill recreate a character then if it is the only option now

Maybe you need to upgrade weapon first if i'm recalled she give you material and told you to upgrade your weapon.

That indeed is what you have to do, but if you don't craft anything and leave the menu get bugged and you wont be able to craft armors or leave menu the regular way, just by walking away.

TBH a game breaking bug behind a tutorial...

i dont know if it is or if it will get fixed... but for now on i will complete the tutorials at a snail pace to not get anything wrong...

BTW i just got where i was when i discovered the bugg, and now i can craft armors the regular way, so we can pinpoint the bugg around the 1st or second forced weapon upgrade.

i tried making one of each weapon that i could chatacambra tree/bone tree , and then it let me make a weapon from the spider tree , so that helped me , idk if it will work for other

My wife have this issue but I dont. Any known workarounds for this one? Shes a newcomer to MH and I feel 2nd hand shame when she cant do the basic things a hunter can do at this game.

Same problem imagine they wait 2 week to resolve the problem what a bad start but with money they are happy I guess
