I found the old games much easier. I'm having a tough time with Wilds like I did with World and Rise because my joints are aching. My body is taking more damage because I'm having to input commands much more quickly and precisely than I used to.
It used to just be a matter of knowing the monster timing and knowing when to step aside, how to buy a few extra seconds, etc. But now the preparation factor has all but died and been replaced with quick reflexes and "skills" ... which frankly I don't have because I'm dyspraxic AND old. Plus there is a LOT more going on than there used to be. Keeping track of the shape of the terrain, random effects like fire and mud, etc... AND the camera jerking around randomly. Monster Hunter is a lot more complicated in battle than it used to be... while removing a lot of the out-of-battle prep work in the name of "quality of life".
Basically it feels like it is made more for kids now, and I'm far from that... and getting further all the time.
All Capcom has to do is make wounds take maybe 50% longer to generate overall + 25% longer on a non weak point and buff the monster HP by literally 50 - 100%. Then increase attack speed on most tempered/frenzy monsters (obviously some are fine like Ajarakan).
A tempered Chatacabra should be moving around and attacking like crazy instead of the almost identical fight to LR.
