I am nto going to explain you this.

You are a troll to think a 7800x3d shuts down at 89.

No CPU does that nowadays, they all throttle to 100-105..

Go learn what throttling means ffs
Pls man read it https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/desktops/ryzen/7000-series/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d.html
89c is max if it goes to 89 it will try to slow down and cool itself or it will automatically shutdown to prevent damage..There is no reaching 105 ,This CPU is specifically designed to work for lower TDP and that's why 89c is max not 100 like on 7700x because it doesn't need 300w like 14900k and others...
. Educate yourself that is official Ryzen listing not Trolls stuff..Like holy f

105 seems high I'd expect it to shut off in the 95-100 realms but regardless the principle is sound. If it gets to hot it throttles, if the throttle fails it powers off.

Then how it reaches 105c ???? :\

It's a safety feature. It attempts to throttle at 89c if it keeps rising and the throttle fails it shuts downs to prevent damage. It's not hard lol, 105 shouldn't happen unless idk you used anything but thermal paste or yours has gone bad.

Basically it says "whoa to stressed pull back" and if that works great, if it doesn't shuts down.
maximum temp before shut down is controlled by the mobo, the cpu specs are for max temp before thermal throttle. these are defaults placed on mobo in the bios and you can change them whether you are paranoid or a madlad thats up to you but if you are normie that doesn't know hardware just leave it.

Yeah you really shouldn't play with it unless you're an expert, ♥♥♥♥ I don't even play with it I'm trusting the mobo standard setting on that 🤣

But I do make a habit of recording all my temps on hwinfo and logging it. Cuz it's good info to know just in case. I can tell you I clean my pc once a month or so cuz I live in a dusty place and a dusty PC can raise an easy 5C then normal. So my go to is cleaning it if I can see dust personally.

So my go to would be making sure it's clean, taking off the side panel for airflow ahluld drop temps, and don't worry to much a simple Google will tell you 80c is perfectly normal on intense games. Just don't play at 80c 24-7 7 days a week xD

80 degrees is normal for most CPUS under load, it has nothing to do with the game. I still do not understand why some people correlate hardware temperature with software... If your CPU is under load, it will run hot, that's literally all there's to it.
Imagine buying a cpu without making any research about it. All latest ryzen are designed to run hot. Undervolt if you're uncomfortable with it. simple

80 degrees is great, considering game pushes CPU to 100% load at some scenarios. I have custom liquid cooled setup with 3*360mm, and it is around 70 degrees in this game at times.

he's not wrong ^^^ 7800x3d throttles at 89..

actually it may not throttle at 89c. You can run 89c with no throttle if your pc isnt lowering speed to save from heat. There is a different between 89c and 89c that is hard throttling to save itself.

Anyways 89c is AMD performance target to for the 3dvcache, the actual TDP for shut down is 90- 100c.

Just like intel 100c is actually 103-105 for system shutdown.

Chances are if he was hitting actual 80c while gaming (not just max temp gauge). HIs fans would be hitting 100%. So unless he lives in a high heat area or his case was trapping in more heat. To move from 80c to 89c Would require a lot more load to increase the temperature another 9 degrees. Chances are if it was an aio he would have already been hitting thermal saturation of the internal coolant.

anyways 80c while toasty is actually once again normal for amd under any load.

What CPU cooler you running? My 9800x3d only reaches 78c at 100% when downloading shaders.

amd always have hot cpus

The hottest I have ever seen my ryzen 9 7950x3d is 55C personally lol and that's from this game. Above 50c is rare for me

9000 series have a better chip layout/design it runs cooler than the 7000 series assuming equal conditions/workload

I wish they would actually reply and give us a screenshot of the HWINFO temps .
In some cases, one might need a better fan, it seems.
There are some CPU's who got a really bad and absolutely insufficient (also regarding "watt") stock cooler, sadly.

Whatever the case, I hope it is not that and it'll get better for you also.

I for my part need to use a better cooler for the CPU again since upgrading the GPU a bit ago.

My pc max temp is 72C that is running prime 95 torture test and furmark , averages after about 30 mins is in the 60c

gamegpu Mar 1 @ 1:45am
quite normal, since the game with denova fully uses processor resources
