Pretty much this. Modern monster hunter games have given all of the power to the hunters while 99% of the monsters outside of the endgame ones are push overs.
I don't care what people say but even low rank in old world MH was MUCH more challenging then these modern games, simply due to the fact that if you went into a fight unprepared things could go south fast.
In Wilds its literally impossible to not be fully prepared for every fight because the game holds your hand through the entire low rank and high rank experience lol.
Idk why people are surprised about this?
Even before world people were complaining about MH4 being too easy. Last time there was this discussion was with Rise.... again, before Master rank comes out.
Then the same pattern happens - they release more harder quests and a expansion with master/G rank.
It will also happen on their next game as well.
Yep this is what happens you you take all of the risk out of fighting monsters, and the hunter gets all of the reward for putting in a fraction of the effort.
People can call old MH games "janky" but the more restrictive the players options were the more tactical they had to play to over come monsters.
Now its just steam rolling monsters like its nothing, and even worse it makes builds feel even more useless.
I mean the previous game was easier but the monsters seem alot more tanky in World than they do in wilds. Me and my 2 friends are basically killing everything in 2-3 minutes on first encounter. That just feels wrong for a MH game to me.
Nah. I've played through low rank in GU for example multiple times and its much more challenging and fun then low rank was in World/Rise (Rise was way worse).
