Linux performance tips?
Ubuntu
4070 ti super nvidia-560
Proton 9 and experimental

Brand new rig. Performance starts ok then ater an hour and a half or so will seriously tank. Even with dlss and frame gen and going down to medium I average 50 and drop below 30.

Vertices fly away from their models occasionally and some models will go partially invisible.

In the forest there's a specific area or entity that will make my game crash and entire system freeze.

I'm going to try proton ge tomorrow but don't have high expectations. If anyone has found anything that works well for them lmk.

For the vertices, if you use an Nvidia >>> PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1. It will force you out of DLSS but you can somehow use the AMD FSR etc... so... yeah. Just make the game think you don't have an Nvidia and you should gain in stability. Hopefully either proton or nvidia fix this soon. Or even better: the devs.

Place the compiled files into whatever proton you are using (Either experimental or latest GE for best results)

(x86) Proton/files/lib/wine/vkd3d-proton/ *replace here*
(x64) Proton/files/lib64/wine/vkd3d-proton/*replace here*

I tried this without any luck sadly. The most recent update seems to have broken the game for me again - I had had success using amdvlk before to play the game but even that now crashes. Tried both amdvlk and mesa on both proton experimental bleeding edge and ge 9.25, with and without the built dlls from the link you provided. Sadly none worked for me and now denuvo has locked me out for 24 hours again lol. Guess I'll try again tomorrow...

Man I love this game but jesus its frustrating to run it.

ngl I just bought another SSD and set up a dual boot. It will be nice to be able to compile my projects for windows natively anyway and a partition between work and gaming is pleasant.
Launch Options:
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%

Use Proton GE 9-25

Don't use High Res texture pack.

Fix these lines in the config.ini to say this

ParallelBuildCommandList=Enable
ParallelBuildProcessorCount=16

My performance was significantly worse on bleeding edge. Your mileage may vary.

best ive gotten so far is using proton ge custom and running gamemode in the launch options. its not perfect but its the most stable so far. mesh still breaks mid boss fight if youve been playing for a bit.

wasn't working for me until I used proton GE_9-25 (through ProtonUp-Qt) and set the launch options
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_NV_low_latency2 %command%
but i cant tell you why

I use a GeForce RTX 3060 on Linux Mint with the 550 driver. Now my performance is caught up with everyone on windows.

Can I ask what your averages frames are with this game on Linux? I have a 3060 (12 GB VRAM) too with a Ryzen 5600x and I'm getting incredibly bad performance on windows 10. I can't even hit a stable 60 even on the lowest settings with 1080p.
